What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

No Hazel darlin’ need to go over that that big bulgy bit over on the East coast - Ipswich (Where Steve is) is over there.

try ipswich …lol about 120 mls …

distance isn’t a problem direction is, I drive lots of long distances but usually cos I’ve gone in wrong direction. BTW went to carvery for lunch had, roast beef (pink in the middle) yorkshire pud, carrots, cauli,
sweetcorn, sprouts, mash and roast spuds all covered in wholegrain mustard gravy + pint of ice cold lager. My treat to pal cos I got lost picking grandson up from camping trip and had to enlist her help to find the fire station he was waiting at.ooops!!!:lol:

Hazel darlin’ you were telling me this morning Fire Station was easy to get to.

It is if people will stop moving roads. I started off on the road I should have been on and suddenly after going in a perfectly straight line I was on a road I shouldn’t have been on, at a place I shouldn’t have been at. I’d get a satnav but I can’t find Halfords.

Hazel darlin’ you can always order one ‘on-line’ and have them deliver it to you.

Theoretically yes but it always goes wrong, I tried to book a holiday on line, either they’d had a mad rush(in the 2 hrs it took me to do it) or I’d managed to book every seat on the coach. What happened when I tried to a book a hospital appointment how in blue blazes am I supposed to know that some dept. I’ve never head of with an unpronounceable name was anything to do with Physio, or when I tried to get a new photo driving licence when they say check what you’ve done, they don’t mean now, cos if you do you run out of time even if they’ve allowed you to print it. Then they send you a letter returning the birth certificate they’ve told you to send cos it’s not the same surname you’ve got now, of course it isn’t I wasn’t flaming married when I was born. Do you seriously think I could order a satnav. The dog cage I ordered for my Jack Russell I gave to a chocolate lab it was more her size than Bailey’s.:cry:anyway I’m going to sit outside with an ice cream and a big glass of ice cold wine now:lol::lol:I didn’t want to go to 'is party anyway.:022:

Tonight for tea I’m going wrap two mini chicken fillets with bacon then cook them in the oven; then I’ll add some grated cheese on the top as well and melt it. Not a clue what else I’m having with them at this time though.

Mollie darlin’ - mushrooms, sweetcorn and rice.

I had sweetcorn yesterday with my lamb chump chop, and I don’t like dry rice as it has to have a sauce on it; but mushrooms? Yep, that’ll do me very nicely, thanks.

Ok Mollie darlin’ steam a leek, and in boiling the rice, add 1 tsp of turmeric to the water.

Place Rice on plate, place chicken, bacon, cheese on the bed of rice and add the steamed leek around the outside.

Haven’t got any leeks in at the moment, and the rice may be a bit too much. I never have a lot on my plate at any one time as I like to graze.

Bought loads of vegetables at reduced prices. I now have a stockpot full on simmer. When it is cooked, it will be blended to make soup. The smell drifting from the kitchen is so aromatic. I have added some home grown herbs to give extra flavour.mmmm. I will be having some later with a hot granary roll, followed by a home made strawberry and cherry trifle, well it’s almost a trifle but without the custard and cream topping:lol:
Nothing like fresh ingredients and home made food.mmmm.

snap with the stock pot but I put a couple of chicken drumsticks and some cookng bacon in, it smelt lovely and it tastes just as good cos I’ve got a bowlful now.

I never put meat in it because my husband is not all that fond of chicken and I don’t like beef or bacon, so it’s veggie soup and we both like it.

Mall darlin’ someone else on the forum (Annie Jack??? ) was telling me they had a glut of strawberries. I suggested that 2 Lb of them be placed in a kilner jar, a full 2lb bag of sugar poured over them and as much of a bottle of vodka as was possible to fill up Kilner jar. Over next few days with handle of wooden spoon gently stir until all sugar is dissolved. When that is done, firmly replace lid on kilner jar and store in a cool dark place for next three months - it will be perfect at Xmas.

I have no clue what they are ;)

glass storage jars with an airtight lid:-)

Thank you Hazel Darlin’

I have made damson gin and rhubarb vodka, that way, Uncle Joe and it’s delicious.
