I am very saddened when I hear young people today worrying about the future, not feeling safe in this terrible world we live in, let alone our own country’s rapid decline. I grew up in a much more peaceful world with many more prospects.
Marriage rate falling fast, and we have the lowest birth rate in Europe, says it all. 
Pessimism at its highest.

I did my National Service from 1959 to 1961. I was stationed at 7 Armoured Workshops on Luneberg Heath. Our workshop was close to the border with East Germany. We had to keep our vehicles fully topped up with fuel to be able to move out at any time. Sometimes we had to get up in the middle of the night and move out which we called ‘a flap scheme’.

It’s not just the wars that scare our youngsters, it’s society today, in general, not forgetting the pandemic they had to go through at such a young age.

I am outraged and heartbroken like everyone here at the moment, on finding out that evil “money makers” who never have enough of something they already have too much of, undeservedly, have caused a massacre of innocent lives, because of safety negligence. 
It isn’t easy watching the TV at the moment, 
, six of the kids were Italian so there’s a lot of coverage going on and widespread anger!

@Rose2, there’s always a chance that they’ve been doing this sort of thing at New Year for several years and that it was deemed as fine at the last inspection.

I thought Republican gun owners said that they needed lots of guns in case a tyrannical government invaded their town ? It’s happening and they say nothing even go along with the murder of an unarmed citizen.

I would re-word it slightly to:
Dear citizens of The West,
You are persistently being told that your current difficulties are the result of hostile actions by Russia and other non-Western countries, and that you must pay for the fight against this mythical threat out of your own blood, sweat and tears and with the lives of your children and loved ones. All of this is a lie.
The truth is that the problems you (and you parents and grandparents) have faced are the result of centuries of the greedy ruling elites who do not give a toss about you or your families, all they care about is to continue raping and exploiting you, your parents, your children and the planet to get richer and richer and richer. Their greed has no bounds. They are a scourge on the planet, and if you want to wipe anyone out, it should be them - not those of us who have resisted their systems and are trying to tell you what’s really going on.
It was actually quite therapeutic writing that

He’s basically doubled down on his ‘one way or another’ - it really does look like he’s going to war with Europe:
“We are going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not”
“Is there anything that could stop you on the international stage: only my own mind, my morality”:

One of her friends has spoken about how they spent 2 summers together on Christian youth missions in Northern Ireland 20 years back. She described her as a “beautiful soul”.
Of course people will relate and be more emotional about someone they may well have been friends with had they ever met.
Have you seen the video released today? It’s from a different angle and shows one of the ice men swearing at her to get out of the ***ing car before the other one shoots her. Of course she was terrified and hardly surprising. I’m sure the shooter will be devastated to see the world reaction after this second video.
