Canada will have to vote, one territory at a time to be admitted to the USA. It’s just to big to be just a single state. Its ignorant to even think so. Also that way for a Territory. Awesome hugeness.
Its all a flash bang Trump headache.

You didn’t vote for Boris or Sunak either Swimmy, but they got to number ten anyway. But to be honest, I’d have any of them, including, and especially Truss, instead of Starmer.
And with all due respect to you Swimmy and other posters, although I’m not an American, I’m getting pretty bored with all the Anti-Trump posts, I think he’s doing a good job and like his ‘Go and Get em’ attitude, something lacking in the UK since Maggie Thatcher.
And don’t rely on Macron or any other European leader, they will stab you in the back as history has proven in the past.
And you all have short memories of Canada when they froze all of the bank accounts of the striking truckers, is that what you want here?
The Yorkshire Post was originally a family run newspaper.

Trying to misdirect the discussion with facts about the Mail from 1930 is bad form Lincs…
And since you mention it, who would possibly have known what the outcome of the Hitler affair would turn into in 1939.
You don’t suppose that the EU don’t want Trump to take Greenland because the EU want it themselves and Trump knows this.
although Greenland isn’t in the EU, Greenlanders are EU citizens.
that was the other chap OGF, not Carney
did Thatcher also steal a country? I must have been too young to notice that!
Let’s not forget: Anti-Trump posts may be just as annoying to some as pro-Trump posts are to others. Just a question of perspective. It will forever be beyond my grasp why someone can support him and can apparently manage to listen to his speeches that make other people cringe in their recliners.
If you were surrounded by Trump supporters, it is mentally refreshing to see that there are some people left , as on this forum including Americans, who are independent thinkers and don’t cling to his coat tails. To plagiarise Trump " they are very fine people" and I take comfort in reading their posts. I haven’t read any posts in which members were blamed for having voted him in.
It will be soon because the EU is worse than Trump Annie and steal countries by stealth and then take away their sovereignty, industry and leave them open to any criminals who want to go there making them totally reliant on Brussels for their survival. And they make you think that they are doing you a favour…A bit like the gangsters in the thirties with their protection rackets… ![]()
Isn’t that what the British Empire did OGF?
I see the emphasis today is away from Greenland and back to Gaza …or the Board of Peace. which looks like it’s a Trump pet plan to replace or undermine the UN but only countries with money to flash about need apply. and only if the Chairman invites them.
I’m sorry but has he not realised people are not going to call it the Board of Peace but instead … Bored of Peace.
It’s more suited to his modus operandi,
I think that such a wild claim requires some detailed justifications. Perhaps a specific example or two. Otherwise it is just the ranting of the deluded.
If anything I’d say the EU was known for it’s own bureaucracy … a victim of the weight of it’s own layers of tribunals and courts and legislatures.
But Trump … surely has to be the total opposite. What is he in not informing Congress that he was to invade Venezuela? A dictator?
This debacle over Greenland is making me think/realise that the UK cannot survive on it’s own. I will never trust Trump. We’re clearly expendable, not a friend.
And after Trump’s U-turn I’m now trying to figure out what it was really all about,
Hi
Rumour on Ex Civil Service Sites is that Trump was made aware that plans were being rushed through to stop buying US Military hardware and Software and concentrate on replacing with NATO Members own equipment.
Dangerous for the UK, the USA supply our ballistic rockets and insist on servicing them.
We would then lose our Nuclear Deterrent for a number of years/leaving France with the only nuclear deterrent in NATO.
This something we need to do anyway so we are truly independent and would save us money and create loads of well paid jobs.
The biggest weapon we have against Trump is a very drastic action.
Turn the electric and water of to RAF Menwith Hill, the biggest USA electronic surveillance site in the World and stop sending then decodes from GCHQ.
Just a thought, it would send Trump apoplectic and seriously harm his major funders.
Completely agree Swimmy, hence why I said in the OP:
However I do think it is important to use the word USA - because we cannot separate the state from the administration as that negates the threat/importance/desperation of the situation. Currently the administration is the US - and the US, under Trump and his cronies, could start WW3 at any moment - which is basically what he’s been threatening.
I think they are more than spineless. I have nothing but contempt for the majority of them who have been funding and supporting a genocide for the past few years. I hope they burn in israHell!!
Tell it how it is Azz … don’t sit on the fence. ![]()
Teasing aside ( I was only teasing as you scare me to death) … is there any country in the world that you admire or wish that our government emulated more?
Failing a particular country what about a trading body or organisation?
I think the last couple of years has been eye-opening Morticia, and China isn’t the bad guy that our media and govts want us to believe. They have lifted 800M people out of property (who were only in poverty because of Westminster - i.e the opium wars). There are almost no homeless people there - everyone has a home for life, they have access to GOOD QUALITY freshly and locally grown fruits and vegetables and meat and it is not only good food, but it is affordable. They have social events that are also healthy and they include (and respect) older people. They have all their basic needs met and nobody is left behind. Of course it is not perfect but it is miles ahead of most countries.
Compare that to here and places like the US. There are elderly people here who struggle. Who are lonely. Who have to decide between heating or eating!!
China has been investing the profits it has been making back into the country and their people. Here, our profits go into the profits of the greedy ruling classes/already rich. Just look at our water companies - they have been pocketing billions and they literally dump sh*t into our rivers!! And look at the US - even when people there PAY for healthcare the insurance companies do everything they can to get out of paying for treatment! What vile and despicable countries we actually live in, and what fools they have made of us. We need a revolution.

(I shouldn’t scare you Morty, I am a big pussy cat really
Well, unless they are people in positions of power and they are hurting humanity and society - in which case they should be scared
)
Go on then … where do I sign up? Do I get a uniform with a zimmer frame or can we stretch to a mobility scooter.
I’m not keen on going to Wuhan.
Azz … you just kissed me.
Don’t underestimate the power you hold Morty ![]()
Look at the massive difference the elderly folk protesting against the prescribing of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, most arrested were elderly folk, bless them.
AND… most political parties are scared of you guys - because they know you are the demographic that bothers to vote.
There’s so much you can do ![]()
Haha! I hope it made you feel better ![]()
Good evening Dachs…
Apart from mine, how many pro Trump posts have you seen on the forum Dachs?
I’m suggesting that the forum is getting terribly biased and driving people away, which is opposite to the all inclusive community spirit that the forum should be demonstrating.
I have no issues with posters attacking the things that Trump does, but should refrain from resorting to personal insults.
And as it happens, I don’t like watching Trump make speeches either, he makes me cringe and I feel embarrassed for him, but thankfully I see through the man’s demeanor and try to understand the reasons for his actions. I like his directness and some (not all) of his policies and I believe he acts for the benefit of the American people and they should be proud.
Like Brexit, Trumps tenure as President will get hard for the people before it gets better and people get impatient, so I hope he can turn things around before his time as president comes to an end…
