Update on Pixie

Apparently Jon is taking the next two weeks off work to look after her, and one of her daughters is a nurse and is visiting every day in the mornings, then the other daughter will be visiting as well, so she has a good network of carers.

Blimey, I’ve gone from reading that you had an email saying that she was well enough to get out of bed to now hearing that she’s home, that was quick!! Its great news and thanks for the updates Mollie :-D:-D:-D

I have a feeling that it will be less than a month before Ann returns (albeit part time) to the forum;-)

She says it’ll be about six weeks because she’s not allowed to use her arms and she has to remain as upright as possible when awake.

Apparently she looks as if she’s done a few rounds with George Foreman as she’s black and blue all over with bruising, but that will fade in time.

Ah, maybe not then Mollie, her body will need time to recover. I had a small op on my arm last year and was surprised at the amount of bruising which resulted from it so I hate to think of the bruising Ann must have now.

Oh, I also told her about the get well card we’ve sent her and she was thrilled about that. She’s also said that she’d phone me again in a fortnight, but she’d tell Jon to email me to let us know how she’s getting along.

I told her that when she does get back on the computer she must read this thread as she’ll be knocked out by all the posts made for her and she’s promised that she will do.

Oh Mollie darlin’ - have only now just caught up with the last few pages on this site and its excellent news Ann is out of hospital, She told me only last week that she would be coming out on the same day I went ‘in’ (Tuesday) - she’s even beaten that record too!!! I am so pleased for her and wish her very well in her recovery and hope to see her on here by the time I come out of hospital.

wow that is marvellous news that she is doing so well. Send on my best wishes when you are able to chat to her. Wish her a happy christmas. Thanks for all the updates, I guess it will be my turn on Wednesday keeping you all up to date when Uncle Joe has his op! It will be a report firstly on the food, and nurses and then the operation lol lol

Jean, that will be great if you can keep us updated on Uncle Joe too. I hope all goes well for him like it has for Ann.

Second that! …

It’s great to hear she has it over with, she was naturally worried and frightened of the operation, you could sense it in her posts, now that she’s home and has all that care she’ll be as right as rain in no time.

Third that.

Its good to know that PIxie is through her surgery and now at home recovering. I hope she will be well enough to enjoy a wonderful Christmas with her family.

For her sake and her family’s I’m also glad that she’s home for Christmas. It’s a long road to complete recovery though, but she’ll get stronger by the day.

Yes, it will be a long recovery, but at least she’s more comfortable at home surrounded by her loved ones.

So nice to hear that she`s home and on the way to recovery .
It will be far more comfortable and restful at home with all her loved ones taking care of her .Wish her a Happy Christmas from me Mollie and a healthier New Year .

Always nice to hear of somebody coming through successful surgery and I also hope that she has a fantastic Christmas surrounded by the folks that she holds dearest. God bless her and may I also wish all members a very merry Christmas as well and hope that 2012 brings you all that you wish for.

Ann is having the rest of her staples out tomorrow so she’ll be much more comfy. She typed the email and she says she’s okay with her arms as long as she doesn’t hold them above her head, but she did say that typing the short email to me was hard so I’ve told her to rest.

It’s good to hear Ann is progressing well… thanks for the update Mollie:-)

No problems, Mags. She said she’d ring me again in a couple of weeks, but I’m hoping to have more updates for you before then.

It must be very difficult trying to manage, but I think she’s pretty much got the care side of things covered.

Fortunately, in Ontario where they live in that part of Canada, there’s a sort of NHS so they didn’t have to pay for the surgery, but she will have to pay for her medication until she reaches age 65, which is in another couple of years, whereas it’s 60 over here for women.
