But only for a couple of days.

I’m wondering if there’ll be any longer term consequences as far as water supplies are concerned.
I’ve just had a look and the Environment Agency monthly situation report for June.
Nothing apocalyptic but some of the reservoirs are currently below normal, Ardingly isn’t looking good at the moment.

There’s currently no rain forecast before the 28th, I’m no expert in these matters but if the rest of the year turns out to be unusually dry we might have issues in 2023.

This is why water rationg and stand pipes became an issue in 76, summer and winter of 75/76 was dry .

My thoughts exactly, and I think it’s safe to assume that we have a higher density of population than back in 75/76.

But hotter countries are geared up for it, Gumbud - we are not.
It is of concern about our reservoirs drying up too. Coupled with this abnormal heat, we have had no rain for months.

A good question is why the UK is exporting energy to the EU and especially France while we are having to pay through the nose because of “shortages” here. OFGEN - sleeping on the job again?

Water companies should be MADE to build additional reservoirs. They’ve been having an easy ride for far too long.

But would they ever fill up Todger? We’ve had no rain for months to fill the ones we’ve got, let alone even more?

Mind you, I suppose they might fill in winter enough to carry us through a bit better?
Bet our water bills would rocket then, to cover the expense of them creating more reservoirs.

Pipe more water from Wales, Scotland, and the Pennines. Maybe even consider re-nationalisation of a vital resource and service.

Can you store that energy? I know energy can be stored but do you have the facilities in the UK to do it?

If you can’t then you might as well sell it and make a few bob.

:018: Hands off, Todger.

:slightly_smiling_face:

This is worth a thought though . . .

"

Just had another thought. I wonder if these reservoirs are like giant water butts, or any other container, and the nearer the level gets to the bottom, the more sludge and muck gets sucked up?
We’ve got more than enough sewage being piped into it already!

Same here :018: Get yer own bloomin’ water. If you can’t, then tough luck. :joy:

Oh my word, no…this isn’t me at all…:scream:

passes Todger a bucket

Help yerself, plenty to go around.

Stay safe down there, Mups! :scream: I just checked on my own Tuesday forecast, and its saying it will be 29°C. I know its still 10 degrees below yours, but I swear I’ll be sitting in an ice bath all day Tuesday!

My sister is here for a week. I’ll do it after she goes back home - if the weather stays good.

Oor Willie?
I remember a certain glam rock band sang a song about him back in the day.
Terrific song, still think I’d prefer a Wig Wam Bam.
Sorry… I’m straying off topic.
