UK heatwave: Temperatures rise to 31.8C and could climb further

Tomorrow its going to be 28°C with some hissing steam happening at teatime

Yep, all this heat might cause a big upset in the atmosphere Caricature…
:cloud_with_rain: :tornado: :comet:…Well, perhaps no comets…
:cloud_with_lightning:

We clip the towel to the back of a kitchen chair. Big bulldog clips do the job. If none available then I guess anything that holds it vertical but since we have some big bulldog clips that’s what we use.

But many Millenniums and beyond are facing something they have not experienced before and have no idea how to deal with.

32 degrees C at the moment, so I’m off for my walk before it gets warm…

I suppose we must be thankful it’s not snowing, imagine shovelling snow in this heat.

Heaven’s that is intolerable, Mags, we just need to get through today and hope tomorrow will be cooler…Its 29°C with me - probably about 25 inside. I know its not RED hot but its awful. I gave the dog a cold shower, and she is presently evaporating on the living room carpet :joy:

My neighbours are sitting outside loving this sunshine…! I went out to put stuff in the bin and couldn’t wait to get back inside again - the wall of heat was almost physical.

Crikey! Mups - I won’t splash in you then! :joy: I hope everyone manages to stay cool…I found this for more ideas?

I offered to shave Nemo’s fur off - but he was not impressed - I just keep giving him the occasional rub down with a wet towel instead!

I am impatient for Tuesday to come and go, Pixie

Years ago maybe I could have put up with this heat but no longer I’m afraid. Unfortunately living in an urban city is much hotter that rural areas, especially with all the traffic fumes.

Any reasonable rural property on sale up you way? :grinning:

Poor cat ignored my cries of alarm and jumped out of the window onto the flat roof (a regular short cut of hers to outside) before I could stop her. Jumped back in quickly with her mouth open and tongue hanging out. I’ve put her away with the dog with plenty of water in the coldest room in the house to cool down. She has just been diagnosed with a thyroid disorder and started meds two days ago so not sure how much is her condition and how much the heat. The flat roof must be almost melting as covered with that tar based felting.

Hi

I still have the stomach bug badly.

Fluid loss in this weather combined with the bug is not nice at all.

I have been trying to get some oral rehydration sachets to prevent dehydration.

Wendy tried 3 supermarkets and two pharmacists without success.

I have some coming from Amazon tomorrow.

I assume you’ve been tested for Campylobactor again, Swimmy?
Didn’t you have this not long ago?
Don’t Boots have Electrolytes, or Superdrug?

Yes, there’s a house down the road- a two bedroom is for sale at £85,000. Views of the countryside, nice walks, 4 buses a day, a local shop, and barely any traffic! Needs decorated though…and a few tweaks of modernisation…ahem

It’s supposed to hit 30°C with me tomorrow…:scream: I’m going to end up joing Mups in making my own puddles!

What a bargain! :grinning:
