They are planning pay per mile driving in future. That’s on top of fuel cost.
Where are you getting all this from Annie ?
It’s to generate the vehicle taxes that will be lost with an increase of low emission cars. But there was also a section on reducing movement in my local authority long term plan. Installing internet & 5G everywhere is part of that (the link is made clear in my LA plan). So official sources confirm this Muddy. It’s not a secret or conspiracy.
Hi
I’m in Shrewsbury, it is 31 here, but 29 out in the sticks.
Manchester is finding it difficult to cope.
Thanks Todger, I will try that tomorrow.
I’m sorry Pixie, I had forgotten you said more or less the same as Todger.
I’ll give it a try in the morning.
Did you hang the towel up on something, or just lay in on the floor?
Well I just had it lying over an empty plastic box, so the towel is half over the box and falling down into the bowl of water.
You could be right Annie I have thought, for many years, that future generations will stay at home and work, shopping and communication with others will come via our computers or mobile phones.
I think I will have left this life before it happens, so my only frustration will be that I may never know if my thoughts were right!
I don’t believe the PTB have ordered super hot weather to keep people indoors !
The highest temperature recorded in the UK was 38.7c in 2019, but they didn’t have a big build up in the media or advice to stay home.
I just find it irritating when the media plays nanny and pretends its news.
The method I heard might work was to place a damp teatowel over oneself. I haven’t tried it but someone on nextdoor advised it as a way to cool down a dog. So presumably might work for brave humans too. Sort of thing my grandmother would have said gives you rheumatism.
I try that idea with my dog, Annie, and she just runs around trying to shake it off! I am taking her guidance in that a wet towel is not a good thing to wear as cooling attire!
its 10:20 here and 23°C outside. I don’t have a temperature for indoors, but hopefully with everything battened down, it’s quite a bit cooler than that inside.
I hope everyone is taking care
Our dog is happy to gave a wet towel over his head, .He’s flat out like a lizard drinking on his cool mat .
Mine will be heading for a cold shower at lunchtime…she isn’t aware of my evil plan yet though
We had the hosepipe out yesterday he love playing with it and of course getting wet.
Yep, it’s becoming so obvious Annie. The price of fuel deliberately hiked up, the change to electric vehicles that nobody will be able to afford, not to mention the price and availability of electricity. Smart motorways to monitor vehicles and charge them appropriately. The demise of cash and the encouragement to use cards, phones and internet banking. Internet shopping and working from home. In the future you will have no reason to leave your house.
When placing wet towels near to a fan remember that water and electricity don’t mix!
Just sayin’
Wrong thread I know, buts its cool to be a cat dog.
It’ll be all over tomorrow with storms forecast , here at least .
