It turns out if you insult your allies, neg them, lie about them, insult their war dead, suggest their regimes should be overthrown and lie about their capitals and suggest people shouldn’t holiday there and made threats to invade their neighbours, they don’t then come running when you start a random war destroying the global economy and inevitably sky-rocketing oil prices, damaging everyone?
FAFO, Donald. FAFO.
And yes he needs the rest of the world, which he’s about to find out on his solo adventure with his best buddy Israel.
But I await to see the glorious future where TACO Donald Does It All By Himself. LOL. popcorn
TACO -translation: Trump Always Chickens Out. He will over this, like he did tarrifs and everything else.
Ok they did do something: At the height of the Afghanistan conflict, the US had approximately 100,000 troops (2011) and the UK had around 9,500–10,000 troops (2010–2011).
A total of 457 British forces personnel died while serving in Afghanistan.
467 Texas men and women had lost their lives since the United States invaded Afghanistan.
During the first term, didn’t Trump tell the NATO allies to pay a percentage of their GDP? Did all the NATO allies do that? No to both. But when Ukraine got invaded, look at all the money they could find them. Are they trustworthy?
Show me something that Trump said the US would invade your neighbors.
If you are asked to help and don’t want to you can say no.
Destroying global economy? Sky high oil prices? If you want oil from the straights send escorts and ask the US to escort oil tankers, we can say no. The US is not an escort service for other countries! And , no trump doesn’t set oil prices. The US only get 1% of our oil coming through the straight.
If you forget everything Trump has done than TACO would be correct.
I understand, it not allowed to report it over there, freedom of speech and all. Your Tariffs have went from 10% to 15% under section 122. Lol
Yes, us commentating from the comfort of our homes (which includes you of course, you arm chair whatever) we all knew that Russia has long been a key partner and supplier of military equipment to Iran. So it is strange that Trump is now massively helping Russia - hugely enriching Putin, especially with lifting sanctions on Russian oil. Why would he do that? What cunning military tactic is Trump deploying?
This attack on Iran is not going to be a win for Trump or the US. It is a great result for Israel, shaping up to be excellent for Russia and pretty good for China. It might even be quite helpful for one JD Vance.
It’s not the US needing Russian oil and China has not stopped buying Russian oil. The main beneficiaries of Russian oil is Europe. And we will see if Europe helps finance Russians war with Ukraine. And end up financing both sides of the Russian/Ukraine war. (Again)
Try eBay, they are selling French rifles. as new, dropped once. Sorry, just testing this and the phone, which has been off in the main, due to the changeover; nothing works in this county anymore.
Trump has lifted sanctions in the hope of keeping the global price of oil down. This is a desperate measure by Trump as Iran is winning the war by blocking the trade route and by hitting oil production across the gulf. Simples. The longer Trump’s war on Iran goes on, the higher and higher the price of oil. Iran merely needs to absorb the bombing and irritate its gulf neighbours. Trump can’t win this. Besides, he and Hesgeth are too intellectual limited to adapt to a new strategy. So Trump is flailing around with self-harming decisions such as lifting the sanctions on Russia. He still doesn’t understand that Putin is not his friend.
There is a serious risk that this war pushes more oil trading away from the US dollar. At the same time as many countries are looking to move to non-US dollar trading, and that’s already happening. China is keen to accelerate this, so is Canada, and Brazil and some European countries.
It looks like an abstract issue but it will have massive consequences. Currently about 90% of international trade (all trade, not just oil) is in US dollars. This means US banks are part of trade that otherwise does not involve the US. This creates a massive demand for USD. Reduce that demand as there will be a reduction in the value of the dollar. Whilst on paper some might claim that helps US exports, as the UK found when Brexit reduced the pound, in reality that does not happen. What really happens is that borrowing becomes much, much more expensive for the US government. Today it costs the US almost $1 trillion a year to service its debt. Imagine that doubling. And remember its already gone up x3 over the last 5 years. This will create significant hurtful knock on problems - high interest rates, cuts in government spending, mass unemployment, etc.
The bad news is such a crippling of the US economy will also badly hurt the rest of the world. The good news is that this will surely mean the republicans finally act to get rid of Trump. The worse news is that we will get Vance.
Do you think?
I think he’s already looking a kingsize prat who one day pleads for help from his friends and the next day, frustrated and angry, goes to the other extreme of insulting them, now not-friends.
The only one who will kiss his ass is Netanyahu.
You know I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.
Once in a while something is said that really makes me aware there’s a serious gulf of misunderstanding between Americans and Brits, well, myself at least.
You highlight an excellent point. What exactly is the goal of this war? (Apart from doing Israel’s bidding.) So there is no definition of the goal of this war. And therefore there is no definition of what would amount to winning. Obviously that suits Trump. He can walk away tomorrow and claim he won. However the truth seems to be that he already lost.
In the meantime, Putin and Netanyahu are clearly winning. Which begs the question - who exactly leading the US?
