The USA and the settler colony of Israel has started a war with Iran

Sorry … I tend to believe that the Independent, and other news agencies, verify their sources a little more professionally, and with less bias, than a civilian on a forum who claims to live at the Vatican.

What if’s … as you say … and ‘fake news’ are just too dismissive without substance.
As previously said. I read the news. You voice your opinion.
That is all either of our respective posts amount to.

and we don’t bomb women and children, but we did. With the Nazi Don Regime any/ everything is off the table in this Corporate war, especially with a Nazi (Hegseth) leading what was converted from the Dept of Defense to the Department of War. Anything coming from the Department of Corporate War led by Nazi Hegseth is going to be fake news, as has always been the policy of Nazi Don and his following.

It’s horrible and glad we are partly not a part of this in the UK - but I think we’ve walked that back a bit? Although the Cyprus drone attacks showed that Iran was going to attack any ally of the US, even if they weren’t part of the attack…sigh/

Personally the thing that’s freaking me out atm is the energy wholesale prices. They are going through the roof cos of this war - and wondering if all my work switching to Octopus Agile and home automation was in vain. I know that’s minor compared to the elementary school that was bombed…but I think we haven’t seen the worst of the knock-on effects of this war,

Trump and Israel playing soldiers is going to wreck the world economy.

Again. Sigh.

If fuel prices are going through the roof it will affect every part of our supply chain. I’m worried about the effects on food prices.

Sadly, it’s about to get a lot worse:

And the mainstream media? Wouldn’t believe a word of it:

Exactly. A new recession cos Trump wanted to play Kingmaker.

I notice that you tend to punctuate your posts referring to many folk as Nazis, which, for me, is an instant turn-off as it is not a term considered appropriate in the UK, except when relevant. In fact, it is an instant turn-off that renders any argument the post may contain invalid. Not that I understand your posts at best, most like the American thing. However, I did live through the last war and suffered its losses, so I guess I know what a Nazi is.

Is it ever OK to call someone a Nazi?

it’s not just oil, they are talking about a global shortage of fertiliser ingredients and that will affect food prices directly. Completely incomprehensible to launch something like this with no actual plan and we should send a bill to the White House

Never mind that they have just murdered 32,000 young and unarmed people, you just worry if you cannot fill your face with a takeaway.

People are being murdered all over the world, what has that to do with the UK?

What were you doing through Gulf War 1 and 2? Kuwait?

I remember it, I am too young to remember the OPEC stuff in the 70’s, but that was also a nightmare and lead to 3 day weeks and power outages.

This goes way beyond ‘takeaways’

It’s not a binary - it’s possible to be appalled at what the US and Israel are doing - regime change from the skies NEVER works out well, especially in the Middle East, they should have learned this by now…and also worried for yourself.

Like I doubt those in Iran are giving thoughts and prayers over our food/oil/energy prices? I think they have bigger things to worry about…

In the case of the current war, Trump is giving your children and grandchildren a future. Assuming you have some.

I’m not sure why you think the world has a future under Trump’s policies. This is a terrible time of uncertainty and chaos for the world.

it’s a bizarre throwaway comment. I don’t even eat takeaway food

You feeling ok? The ‘race’ responsible for a genocide couldn’t be further from the ‘greatest’ we have ever seen :icon_rolleyes:

You kidding, I remember years of food rationing from 1939-1956? Then the Suez war when petrol was rationed. Not forgetting being stationed in the Chaos Islands area, being bitten to death. Strange that, Starmer reckons they are of no military importance, so why were they then?

The rational for the US war on Iran is unclear and inconsistent. The goal of the war has not been set out. Presumably there is no plan beyond air strikes.
The first rational was to stop the Iranian nuclear weapons programme. The one that the US obliterated last year. The one that there is zero evidence that Iran is anywhere near to have usable nuclear weapons/
Then it was to achieve regime change. Certainly the Iranian regime has been brutal, murderous and done inhumane things. Those sort of actions have not been enough to prompt a war in other countries. Nor does that explain a war now - why not last year, or before? And why will killing one leader guarantee the next regime will be better? Regime change is hazy guess work by the Americans - playing with Iranian lives. Look at Libya.
Then it was about ballistic missiles. Of which there are no evidence of any long range missiles. Ah, but possibly missiles capable of reaching Tel Aviv. And Israel had already decided to attack Iran. It just needed a US president reckless enough to join in.
None of this is making the region any safer. Not now and not in the future. That claim is completely without basis or merit. A war with no clear objective and no plan and no idea of what next can only deliver more problems, not fewer.

Economically this could be far worse than suez or opec, if Trump doesn’t give up this nonsense the whole world will really turn against the US. Meanwhile in the US public speakers for the US government are playing down the economic impact. So annoying that one person can affect everyone’s quality of life in the world with a reckless action like this.
