I’m a little bit disappointed at everything closing down, stopping, and being switched off, Shops, sport fixtures all being cancelled, and programs on tv focusing so much on rehashing the same info. Billboards everywhere, the black headlines in shops, every webpage I go on has condolence front page. I even got emails from things I have subscribed to saying that schedules have been rearranged due to the queens passing.
It feels like we are being “forced” to mourn.

It’s normal to have a period of mourning in most countries when a Head of State dies. However, our Queen was so extraordinary that various countries around the world are holding periods of mourning in her honour. I guess we are just not used to it because we have had a Head of State for 70 years.

The Queen is the first British monarch to die since things like the internet, and multimedia such as faecesbook and YouTube etc., have been invented. There was nothing like that when George VI died - we had barely got used to the miracle of TV - so it is not really surprising that they have all gone OTT. Irritating, maybe, but not surprising.

It seems like an eternity doesn’t it?
There are practical reasons why it is such a long period of mourning.
There has to be sufficient time for arrangements to be made to allow the numerous heads of state who wish to attend the funeral to do so.

Prince Charles speaks of a loving mother.
In ‘The Crown’ the Queen is portrayed as being cold - especially towards Prince Charles…
Does he know anything else? His father apparently treated him like shit.

One thing that struck me as a bit odd is why they use cars to travel between the airport and Balmoral. One would have thought that a helicopter would have been faster, and it’s not as though Balmoral estate is too small to have places to land.
