Sorry to hear you have an infection, Spitty, hope you recover soon.
I was given a book on the history of famous paintings by a well meaning relative who was always giving me educational books as Christmas presents. Even a board game I was given was educational (some sort of card based game with dice involving all the Scottish clans fighting, cannot for the life of me remember the name of it).
So, youâre giving your interpretation but youâre going to review the expert interpretation on YouTube right?
technically itâs all guesswork as the painting is a bit of a mystery.
100%
Agree
You know, Iâm impressed. Iâll have to have a relook at it ⊠certainly the first panel has a fairytale innocent fantasy feel to it and the last panel is rather horrific.
And all the while the rest of us were having to make do with Noddy and Big Ears.
Very probably.
Not probably. I took the trouble to find it! So, youâll take the time to watch it!
The first panel is Adam and Eve, I believe.
Hey âŠmy brother gave me a jigsaw of the Last Supper.
Iâd have loved a Noddy.
There is a bit on wiki about how there is a recent interpretation of this as a political message. This was at a time when the area he was in was being battled over by the French and Germans (or whatever the same groups were called back then). Not that I know much of the detail of the history, but it seems to make more sense that the painting is a political satire protected by a religious mask.
Okay, bossy boots, I will, I will.
There will be a test!
Thatâs an interesting take. I think the painter was Spanish?
Well the same relative also gave me many books by Enid Blyton. I think I had the whole collection.
Iâm afraid my knowledge of history is too woefully inadequate to have the slightest inkling about that, Annie.
I thought Dutch?
Itâs all on wiki (the font of all wisdom)
