The Dog Lovers Thread

Yikes! Crazy eh! Last time got dog from breeder was for first Newfie - hubby got him for a surprise birthday gift for me as I’d always wanted one, but always took in fosters, and kept the darlings!
When asked him price of Newfie, told me I didn’t want to know! That was 18 years ago. He didn’t have the best pedigree (the dog - still sitting on the fence about hubby!), but he was a darling (dog. And hubby too!).

You will probably amaze yourself how much you can cope with.
I spent a lot of time with Mungo, but he repaid it in spades. Don’t they all!

Contact the rescue, and put your name in with what breed/breed mix you prefer, along with gender, weight limit etc.
Just be prepared for phone calls!

Ok. I have to apologize for the number of photos I am about to post!
So sorry. But had a hard time choosing, and did weed some out.
Is there a limit per post? Sorry if I exceeded it.
If there isn’t, there should be. For the likes of me!

Got some pictures of the boys outside in snow today. Not lot of white stuff right now. Rain earlier in week took lot away, but last night brought new stuff.

Sorry, not great quality - battery low in camera.
That and had on wrong setting.
And was juggling glass of wine in other hand!

Most are of the boys doing zoomies - chasing each other. Never tire of watching them do that!

Mungo and Ollie often give each other kisses!

After initial zoomie time, Chester always goes to his ball, while the other two keep on playing.

A challenge. Get off your butt Mungo, and come play. He did. And chased Ollie off into the trees. Exactly what Ollie wanted!
PS - You stay real clear when they running hard. A knock from them at high speed will send ya flying. That’s experience talking!

It’s not often that Ollie actually catches Mungo, but he did this time. Chester always outruns the pair of them.

He may look sad and lonely by his ball, but as soon as we go to get it and throw it for him, he’s off with it. So who’s playing who!
When we tell him leave, we can throw it. But he gets more fun teasing us!

Hard to get a shot of all 3 while playing/running. So fast. Closest I got today.

Posted this one of the hephalump as it shows his wandering eye/lazy eye (strabismus). He’s looking straight at me in this one, but it looks like he’s looking off to his right.
Oh heck, now I see the smaller version, it’s not as obvious.! Take my word for it ok!

Lost our big friend Chum this year after 12 years of having gentle fun .

Our little Lowchen/Poodle loved him too.

They sometimes shared a bed,

Beautiful looking dog

I am sorry to hear of your loss.
Handsome Chum sounds like he was a big teddy bear.

My very first dog was called Chum. It’s not a name you hear very often.
He was about the size of your Chum, and had the same colouring, but longer fur.

Chum was a Rottweiler/ huntaway (working sheepdog) cross.

With ours paid in full when we picked them up, some ask for a deposit but ours didn’t.

@Ciderman sorry for your loss but he was a handsome fella.

He was beautiful, cherish the memories. The love stays strong but in time the pain lessens.
