Girlze is a Senior and normally curls up and snuggles up keeping warm even on the coldest days…Yesterday afternoon I looked at her and saw her fur all sticking up on her back…Was about to light the Log Burner but saw Husbands woolly scarf nearby…just to tied her over til the Burner is belting out some heat for her…and moi…
That towel she sits on, you can see she does a lot of mark timing still.
She does keep her ‘youth looks’ though, lucky Puss.

Turned on the light at 04:30 in the living room to discover the lump that is Buttons sprawled on the floor.
I have no idea what time he came in but it must have been before 02:30 as that is when I first got up to make a cup of coffee but did not turn on the livingroom light.
What makes this stranger I have always been tuned in to the cat flap opening and closing but not this time, not that it matters as he is always welcome.

Look what I got up to find at 04.30.
Felix in the living room and Buttons in the spare/junk room.
I thought that I had heard Felix at around 11.30 as he comes through the cat flap differently to Buttons with far less noise but when I got up to investigate I only bumped into Buttons.
I left Buttons to it and went back to bed but Felix must have been here all along though I have no idea where.

Felix went out but came back half an hour later thought I had better keep an eye on things as Buttons can be a bit of a bully so he is work in progress to stop him. Things are going well but I want Felix to feel safe here and if Buttons is also here he has to learn to behave.

Mr Fraggle, you seem to have endless patience with cats & having cared for many over the last 40 years I know that is essential. I am sure Buttons feels that Felix is on his territory but I am sure your patience & treats will eventually encourage him to share your house!
Mr Grey, a feral cat I took in 18 months ago, now sits bedside me on the sofa whilst my other 2 ( both strays from a few years ago) will sit on my lap & there is no aggression. They will accept each other eventually!

Buttons is just a bit of a bully but he does not really go to far just letting all the other cats that visit that he is top dog/cat. Whereas Felix has a very gentle disposition.
I agree patience is needed but I found I have plenty of that these day though that is a mystery as to where it came from as I never used to be.

I sometimes sleep in a spare room since my ailment sometimes keeps me awake and I don’t want to disturb Mrs Dex.
However, in this occasion, the cats had decided to commandeer the bed and I was forced to sleep elsewhere!

Optical illusion to lull Dex into a false sense of security - he didn’t fall for it - he knows that cats expand to fit the space available!
