Sweets or chocolate

I guess a lot of people have seen it, but it just popped up as I was scrolling through Youtube, and it’s worth watching again.

What an adorable little boy

Couldn’t you just eat the little fella, Muddy? :slightly_smiling_face:

Certainly, if he was made of Cadbury’s chocolate.

I sounds like his mother would have eaten him if he had been.

Wow, I love the idea of dark choc lemon creams! Yum.

I’m looking forward to those Liquorice Alsorts Bev… I used to eat the whole packet… I just couldnt resist then Artangle told me she read an article that said it was dangerous as they raised your blood pressure substantially so I’m more controlled now… they are still my favourite sweety though

Far too many choices these days. During WWII and for some time after, people considered themselves lucky if the got a sniff of the Camp bottle. A concoction with a hint of coffee to it.
BBC - A History of the World - Object : Original ‘Camp Coffee’ label

I remember Camp Coffee, it was disgusting, my grandmother liked it, Chicory was used as a substitute for coffee, it tasted nothing like coffee

It was better than twice brewed tea . . if you had some that was.

urgh yeah I remember that Bruce, it was horrible, it was used in baking too

I liked Chicory coffee…I drank it when the kids were young as it was the cheapest coffee on the shelves…I couldn’t drink it now though I don’t think.

The Vegans (I think I’ve seen one on Star Trek, BTW) won’t like that.

That link is a very interesting example of ‘wokery’, in which attempts are made to change the perception of true historical events in order to avoid upsetting certain people!

Oh, aye. It wer a hard life when you couldn’t afford even a spoon of tealeaves to go in the pot. I know; I’ve been there. Poor as church mice.

We shouldn’t expect anything else from the BBC teamed up with The British Museum. Never let the down to earth truth get in the way of their combined twisted interpretations of the past🤬

I value the BBC very highly, and just ignore the elements in it that I don’t like.

I never liked Cadbury chocolate especially not dairy milk. Almost as bad as Hershey stuff. That’s the pits but then I never had a sweet tooth ever. The one exception is proper Israeli style halva. My old mum used to make it from time to time.
