Supermarket Clothes - do you buy any?

Yeah, especially for old fools like me - what a prat I am!!  :joy:

What about any supermarket clothes Swimmy?

Weatherproof can also mean it’s warm, that could be due to the fabric being synthetic (man-made) so also less expensive than wool. That seems as though this is what is given in instances on this website, “shelled micro fleece” for example:

"Shelled Microfleece
Shelled microfleece uses a very light micro-velour liner rather than actual 100-weight fleece. It works in a very similar way adding a little extra insulation along with excellent wicking properties and a nice comfortable next-to-skin feel."

If that’s not the answer then, as the title of one of Toyah’s records, “It’s a Mystery”!

Edited to add:
@Pesta It seems the “mystery” has also been solved by other members!

Hi

If they are in the Charity shop, then fine.

I get my pants and socks from Supermarkets, that is all.

That would be far too easy and also wouldn’t convey the “added value”
which possibly a “mystery” fabric might!

Yeth, I remembered the thong but had forgotten Toyah had a lispth.
That didn’t hold her back though from what I do remember!

I used to like Toyah and her a fun personality. Though she went down in my estimation when she had a face lift.

She what?? When? I adored her music and fiery hair when I was growing up…I cannot believe she went and did that to herself :frowning:

I can’t remember when it was Pixie, but she did a programme on it at the time.

Hang on I’ll Google…

2005 book Diary of a Facelift,

Mrs LD just told me “shell” refers to the outer part of the garment as against the lining or padding if padded. Why cant they just say “outer” rather that shell … ruddy pedants!!

I have bought quite a few clothes in Tesco as its on my doorstep but its usually tops and nightwear. I once bought a leather look jacket there too.

I tend to buy more clothes at George by Asda, ive had loads of clothes from there.

My latest clothes shopping was a brand new pair of M & S leggings from a charity shop, £13, they would have cost £25 at Marks so I got a good deal.

Oh gawd, yes The Shell Suits…

I daren’t ask if anyone used to wear those, :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

 To my everlasting embarrassment, I did for all of a couple of visits to a gym in Port Elizabeth. It was white with FIRESTONE embroidered on the front and back of the jacket. When I got home, V said, “I’ll launder that but it’s going to the church’s thrift shop 'cos you’re not wearing it again.”

I agree, Baz.
Tesco and Asda (George) are great for everyday items such as basic t-shirts and underwear.
If I want something more smart I tend to visit Next. Matalan probably have the greatest variety and choice though.
