Spring Flowers

The daffs are a few inches high now, crocus is lovely.

Lots of rain here too today.
Can’t find a single flower in my garden :frowning: and I used to have crocus too, but I can’t find a single one!
Have I said before
roll on spring

It’s very strange weather for the time of year and I think both flora and fauna are getting confused.

Never mind the flora and fauna, first there was confusion as to what day it is now its the seasons. We have had a mild winter up here, we are usually under snow at this time and it seemed months last year, but I am grateful but also worried in case we have it all to come.It has been very windy, high winds that bang on the side of the house.

We had very high winds all over the last week end and up to yesterday (plus constant rain) but today it is definitely a bit milder and so far it is dry with a little sunshine and blue skies dotted with clouds.
Still loads of strong shoots showing but nothing in bud yet, just one or two Roses and of course, the splash of colour from the Polyanthus.

Had another mooch round the garden today.
Very squishy underfoot but I noticed lots of new buds, camelia, new cherry tree and honeysuckle. The geraniums in the greenhouse are looking good but everything is covered in greenhouse white fly :frowning: Never had it this bad before! I read the RHS article about it and it’s because we have a little heat in there
can’t win can you?

Ive got a fuschia (non hardy) and some geraniums still in flower from last year. Its been a very odd winter.

Checked my garden as well today
lots of buds on daffodils with one or two ready to burst open, tulip bulbs are now through and about an inch high, and my rose bush has sprits on! Hope they all survive if winter does arrive!

Looks like we are in for a cold spell
lets hope it doesn’t damage the buds

Heard it on the main news tonight Marian, that winter is arriving next week and staying for a month  I hope it doesn’t damage the buds as well.

Oh I hadn’t heard it was going to be for a month! The buds wont like it! Some of my daffs wilted last week in the frost but soon recovered. It was going to happen sooner or later wasn’t it!

Walking down the garden on wednesday when i had a day off it was lovely to see that i had some flowers already showing as well as the winter pansys were in bloom.
Everything else i could see they were trying to push through the soil, hope they survive if there is a frost.

Lots of snowdrops out around here today  I do love them, proud little white and green heads bobbing around in the wind :-p

Honestly you cant bank on anything can you, we had some snow yesterday just a bit then it changed to sleet, all gone now.

You are all so lucky. Where I live everything is covered under a layer of solid ice.

How much longer will that go on for Anna?

I think you are going to get some more snow over the weekend Annie

Thank you kindly
 just what we need!

I knew you’d be pleased Annie

Well my poor daffs, the tall ones, are very unhappy with this cold weather, they’d wilted virtually down to the grown this morning but have just had a look and they have started to stand up again.

I think we are not having the cold weather till about Thursday( according to my glass ball)He He I read on the pc somewhere.
