Serious problems with flu shot safety and effectiveness

Well I started the thread this year for the specific reason of notifying our members that appointment bookings were now being taken for this year’s vaccination. Unfortunately it was taken over by someone who seemed to insist on debating it even though it was posted in the Health forum and was not meant as a debatable subject.
Didn’t get a look in after that!

I know what you mean Mags!
I am ashamed to say that I haven’t had mine yet because i badly sprained my ankle and wasn’t able to get to the surgery, but they assure me that they will have a new stock in in a few days and i can just go in and get my jab anytime.

Hot Tip:

Next year, make the public information available to all then immediately lock the thread. If someone wants to start their own thread slagging off the injection and how people are stupid to have one then let them start their own thread so we can ignore it.

What a good idea Judd, thanks! :023:

I hope your ankle is better now Twink and you can receive your flu jab soon …

Excellent idea Judsy - and I also agree with Twink in it being totally ridiculous. Every year it’s the same. I am sick to death of it to be honest.

In fact, I would go one step further and lock it NOW.

There can hardly be a person on the forum who hasn’t had enough of these monotonous flu jab threads.

I am appalled by the comments above. It is like a witch-hunt.
Realist has the right to his enjoyment of this forum, even if it is at the annoyance to others.
He hasn’t broken any rules, sworn, been racist or been offensive.
What worries me, if he had been one of your favourites, you wouldn’t have said a dicky-bird!

If you don’t like it, don’t look at his posts! I for one enjoy them. I find his posts, very informative.

Note to self: Do not get next years flu shot in Canada

No one had said he can’t do all those things. But if we need a reminder to get the jab that thread should be just for that not debating if we have it or not. He can start his own thread for that.

I tend to agree Arty, If you have to be an expert in the field of the subject before you can participate in a discussion, there would be no discussions at all, and we all might just as well find something else to do with our time…:069:

But…The fact that we are all over fifty means that we have graduated from the university of life, and as such, are experts in most things…

I think we have learned many things from Realists posts, and I for one would not like to see him censored…:018:

That will your your cherry picked ‘salient information ‘ To be honesty I will stick to my GP’s advice and not your ‘conspiracy nonsense’

…and be a sheep? Good luck to you!

Doctors don’t have a monopoly on knowing what’s best for you Rehab…Everyone should make an informed decision having read both sides of the available information…

Not at all, i dont be believe that he has an agenda, but if you trust all that you read on the internet then good luck to you :lol:

Agreed but see my comments above, my GP has been giving me my shots since 84. I haven’t had flu . But if i am to believe some of the above then some nefarious and dark organisation is having a chuckle at me.:lol:

Brilliant idea Judd!

A big, fit, healthy dude like you Rehab, would probably never have caught flu anyway…

Unbelievable comments from the tiny “clique” of what can only be described as Naziesque followers!

What next? Should we burn all the books on herbal medicines and natural remedies?

Shame on you all, what thoroughly despicable morals you have.

This is an open forum. No-one, but no-one on here has the right to veto anyone else. No-one has the right to shut down discourse and debate. Twink’s suggestions are frankly absurd and appalling yet not surprising given her vitriolic comments to date.

What’s most ironic is how these same tiny few people, claiming that they don’t want these flu-related threads and flu discussions, simply can’t keep out of them ! Go figure!

Perhaps their wishes would be better sought funding and setting up their own websites with closed forums where free speech is not welcome and where they can control ruthlessly what people can and can not say.

Thank goodness we live in a free country where freedom is cherished and freedom of speech is valued.

People need the information to make informed decisions. The shameless NHS lackeys on here will never give people the truth which is why I provide it, backed up always with proper medical institution references.

But none of that matters in this respect. What we have here is a small group of desperados who want to stifle debate, who want to shut it away in some tiny irrelevant corner of the forum. Utterly shameful.

There’s a lot of inaccuracy in the way Realist presents his evidence.

I noticed that on the Shingles thread. Most people don’t bother to check his assertions against all the studies and evidence, but when I did it was clear he is misrepresenting facts. He posts visual representations of stats that make no sense when you look at the underlying data.

I think it’s fine if someone posts about this as long as people don’t make decisions based on his posts which have a personal bias. They should seek out the facts themselves.

Nonsense

More nonsense

Wholly untrue
