the sandstone quay in Corrie ther was a sandstone quarry in Corrie Im lead to believe some was taken up the clyde to Glasgow and used for building there not great pic I was checking my boat early one morning

Todays offering is the fabulous “Glendoe Eagle”
A magnificent tribute to the Hydro Electric workers who built the Glendoe Dam, this sculpture is not easily accessible, mounted high on the ridge of Glendoe with majestic views over the Glen and the Hydro Electric Dam. Special permission is required by anyone wishing to view it at close quarters, and it is not a walk for the faint hearted.
With a wing span of 12 feet, and weighing more than half a tonne, the sculpture is the creation of Boat of Garten artist Tom Mackie.
It is one and a half times life-size, and has been set into natural rock above the Glendoe dam, which was offically opened by HM the Queen on June 29 this year. At around 2,500 feet above sea level, it is thought to be the highest wildlife sculpture in Britain.
Mr Mackie worked with Nairn-based specialist foundry Black Isle Bronze to produce the stunning sculpture, which commands a bird’s eye view over the 100-megawatt development.
The Glendoe hydro scheme was a massive undertaking that involved creating a huge reservoir and tunelling through solid rock for over five miles into the mountain landscape above Loch Ness.

That looks amazing rox did the public get to the opening with the Queen? Im guessing that the hydro system is similar to the one at Cruachan ? I went there It fantastic and roads up that way are beautiful At cruachan they use the water to power generator at peek time then at night pump the water back up on the cheap tarif great pics again 
I expect they did Caveman but I’m not really sure.
This is the Smoo Cave, one of my favourite places to explore. It’s right across the other side of the coast from us and takes a couple of hours to reach, but I go at least once a year in the autumn after the tourists have left. I make a day of it and go to Durness Hotel for an outside lunch with the dog and after a while at the cave we go for a wander along the beach before heading back home. It used to be a lot bigger than it is now and stretched right along the narrow gully to the sea, but over time the roof gradually fell in. (see 1st photo) It’s a wonderful place and has a dark history.That is my son with the dog, when he was up for a visit, he wanted to see the caves so we picked a nice-ish day in October and drove over. He was up on the cliffs and took a few photos and also that one of me at the car, didn’t know he’d taken that at the time.

Perth is a well known flood area, both Inches, Bridgend, some of Craigie and the Town. The photo was back in 1926.

Brodick Castle is a Nts owned castle on arran great gardens adventure playground for kids loads of walks tours etc see if i can find more pics this is the walled gardens with ferry in background

STORM , a ten metre tall goddess of the sea, has emerged from the deep to encourage us all to celebrate our seas, care for our coastlines.
She was in Wick for the start of the Northern Lights Festival.
