Post your daily exercise routine

Have a brilliant holiday OGF, will look forward hearing of your adventures

Do have a good time … we will make up a party and burgle you

ogf pm me your address and I’ll keep an eye on your place for ya??

You and me both away at the same time then - Have a fantastic holiday bud.

Thanks Floydy, you too. It’s going to be pretty dead on this thread for a couple of weeks without us mate…:cool::cool:

Very true mate. Still, they’ve still got Tpin to wind up the, ahem, ‘old dears’

Thanks Mags, I hope I won’t disappoint…

Well actually Rachel, the house won’t be unoccupied, I’ve put Maddie the cat in charge of security, and you wouldn’t want to mess with her…(she would probably hold the torch for you if you offered her some fish)

You’re such a good mate Gummy. Yes my address is ‘24 Sycamore’ or am I mixing that up with a song? I must be going senile! :-p:-p:-p

My last run for a while on familiar ground this morning, and what a strange run it was. After writing a post on one of the topics last night, I was thinking about it all the way round my eight mile run and I think I’ve figured out how the universe works and why we find it so hard to understand it…Anyway the miles flew by but now I’m under immense pressure from Mrs Fox to ‘Get My Finger Out’ So I’ll tell you all about it when I get home…Ta Taa for now…

PS:- If any of you reprobates decide to burgle my house while I’m away, I’ve had a new front door fitted and I’m quite chuffed with it and don’t want it damaged; So the key is under the outside doormat. Oh, I’ve also left the hoover out just in case you walk any mud over the carpet…;-);-);-):cool::cool:

I hope Twink or Morty don’t read this Floydy or you’ll be in so much trouble…:-(:-(:frowning:

PS:- I don’t think they come in here though!

Amazing what can upset people of a certain age.

being on my hold for two weeks, I hardly did any training. There was a small gym on the complex and I did a couple of short sessions in there, but thought “what the heck” and enjoyed the relaxation for a change. I did put on a few pounds though, but did a bit of swimming as well so it evened out a little.

Visited the gym yesterday and managed a very brief 40 minutes before calling it a day. Just too tired still. I’ll be back into it by the beginning of the week again I reckon.

Occasionally I’ll post a routine. This may help others who do anything similar.

Today I was determined to correct my appalling efforts of yesterday and hit the legs, the first for three weeks. I really forced myself and put in a surprisingly decent effort. Despite being severely out of breath to the point of near-exhaustion, I gave them a right old battering with some full-on sado-masochistic volume…

Saturday 15/10/16

Incline press:
20x150kg warm up
12x200
12x250
12x300
12x350
9x400
10x400
4x400
40x200 ½-way high reps
*Yes I was knackered doing this, but my leg strength was absolutely pounding with power for some unknown reason, no let up with the strength. I toyed with the idea of going for a PB (430+) – which I’m certain I could have managed – but stuck to multiple sets instead.

Seated leg press:
– as many as reps possible until failure (i.e. I just couldn’t breathe anymore). 2 minutes rest between sets.
49x150
22x180
14x200
16x180
26x150
30x120
*Nearly died doing these. All good fun.

Calf press (to failure):
26x160
17x160
12x160

Hack squat:
6x150
4x200
*Stopped there as I felt really dizzy and had to take a few minutes rest. Had to see the session out at least before I was killed off.

Extensions:
10x100
12x100
9x100

Seated ham curls:
8x75
6x80
5x85

Good girls:
36x60
21x60
12x60

Bad girls:
26x60
21x60
15x60
*Both above exercises done as failure sets with 10 seconds rest in between.

Time: 1hr. 15 mins

Very bizarre where the power came from today. Legs looking good and really full. Must be the tan.

Thanks for reading folks.

Just checking in to say that I’m still doing my ten mile bicycle rides three times a week, along with a few brisk walks of about 3 to 4 miles each. Not much has changed.

Good to see, Mart. Keep it up buddy:cool:

Good to hear that you are still putting in the miles Mart, maybe we could add some photos on this thread to make it more interesting to the more sedate members…Perhaps it might inspire them…

It would depend on the type of photos I think, Bob. But I agree, there is very little interest in exercise from most on this forum.

I tend to disagree.

I think some of us are too much in awe to say anything but it doesn’t mean we’re not interested … possibly lacking motivation and, more importantly, a person in real life to encourage us.

I absolutely love the pics on FB of the runners … inspiring to a point but no way would I even try it

Good points there, Rachel:-)
But I’ve always thought the person who ‘wants’ to ‘train’ rather than ‘needs’ to will make more of an effort. Take for example all the new people who show up at the gym on January 2nd after Christmas. Half have probably left by the end of that month, the rest may stay for a while longer because they have got ‘the bug’ and actually enjoy it.

Ah well
You are not a woman.

In my youth I did ballet and ice skating but only when my friends came with me.

I tended to excell.

Never been good at joining anything on my own   and now my confidence has waned

I understand your double axel is quite splendid Rachel…

How do you know Floydy is not a woman?

And what you need is a personal trainer…
