Platinum Jubilee

I remember the beginning of Her Majesty’s journey in 1953 when her Coronation took place.

The City of Bristol, was alive with street parties everywhere, the majority of roads were closed to vehicles. I was 12 at the time and was in awe at the decorations everywhere and my favourite was the magnificent giant crown which was erected in the City Centre.

That looks grand, Mags.
Lovely picture. :+1:

We have had a brilliant day with the Jubilee. We had eight of our neighbours in with excellent food and convivial conversation. This lovely lady was instrumental it arranging the Garobo and a lot of the food.

She is a remarkable woman - but is looking very frail.

The light show has been amazing.

I agree.
In fact I think once all this is over, I feel she has more than done her bit, and ought to retire.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that is her intention now anyway.

I do feel Charles, being well past retiring age himself, is a bit too old to start a new job too.
It would be almost like another Joe Biden! (almost). :grinning:

Just watched the show it was excellent and the light show awesome.

Really enjoyed the show tonight. Rod Stewart did well for 77 and Diana Ross for 78 but she’s obviously had a lot of surgery - not a wrinkle on her face! Simon Le Bon looked a little plumper but did well.

Lots of the younger ones I had no idea who they were. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Lovely to see George and Charlotte singing along.

Can anybody tell me who the very miserable looking woman in white was immediately behind Prince William? She never smiled once and looked like she would rather not be there.

I have missed it all - although we did have fireworks in the Peloponnese in Greece tonight - I’m not sure that was to celebrate our Brit Queenie, though!
I hope the Queen enjoyed her weekend of festivities and that all those who made an effort and took part enjoyed it too. xx

It was brilliant! She has a great sense of humour!
