I’m definitely stealing that expression! So cool :sunglasses:!

“Range Anxiety”

Went to Tamworth yesterday, and that made me think back to the start of the association with the humble Bicycle. It was a summer day 1971 (12 years old) the usual crowd were bumming around on the Estate so, new pastures were calling, dug out my new Racer Bike and set off. In less than half hour I was passing Drayton Manor Park on the A4091 and entered Fazeley, over the canal bridge, the County Drive area on the left as is now would be another 15 or so years in the future, a quarter mile or so, on the right by the river (opposite what is now Ventura Retail Park) was what I think was a Gymkhana going on with brightly colored stalls, and many horses, then I got my first sight of a real Castle, this bit of road is now pedestrianized, I had the bridge to myself so took this photo of where the river Anker and River Tame separate.

Made me think how much water has passed under the bridge sine I last sat there on a bicycle, and watched. :biking_man:

Got the Saracen fully adventure prepared now, got the Gopro and now my old Iphone to use as Sat Nav, run from the USB port on the battery, just make a note of the postcode where I park up then use it to find my way back. :biking_man:

Spitty, does the IPHONE satnav eat up your battery much?
Why don’t you just charge it fully beforehand?

It runs off the USB port on the main battery.

See what you mean, no, the power consumption by the Phone is negligible.

That phone has been in the Cupboard for a couple of years, it has charged up very quickly, lets see how long the charge lasts.

The spare iphone was a bad idea, the battery discharges to 50% in twelve hours, got a sim card for it then realized the minimum sim only deal costs £10.00 per month, but will never be used for calls or texts, so, decided to use my own phone for now, its bonkers, you can get a normal car sat nav for about £90.00, but, a dedicated Bicycle one is £280.00 for some reason and I ain’t paying that.
Took the Sur ron out today, for a blast through the woods, lucky I had the place to myself.

Spitty, I’m sorry!
Despite the satnav issues, did you enjoy your bike ride?

Yes, I may have finally bonded with the Sur ron, I ignored its throttle foibles, and the miffed faces of the folks I came across, yes, enjoyment is starting to flow. :biking_man:

I’m so glad you enjoyed your bike :biking_man: ride Spitty!

That’s great!

How’s the BWM coming along? Did you manage to buff out the light fitting? Waiting anxiously for the refurb…

Yep, fully buffed, but lost the mounting screws, it was a complicated search for replacements, but after restating the search many times, I found them, should be here tomorrow, once affixed will snap the lights, the beamer is then off to a specialist for recommissioning. :blue_car:
