Isle of Man snapped clearly from the Fleetwood coastline, here’s why the atmospheric phenomenon happens

‘Isle of Man sighting is down to a natural phenomenon’
Conditions were perfect at sunset last night to see the Isle of Man from the Fleetwood coastline
The Isle of Man ‘bumps’ snapped from Fleetwood.
An orange sky and wind turbines gave way to the peaks of the Isle of Man on the horizon - a phenomenon that only occurs when the conditions are absolutely right, making it a rare and striking feature.
PS. The IOM is “65 Miles” from the English Lancashire coastline.
Yes, wisteria is so beautiful but very invasive. I had to remove it (took ages) as it was eating up my wall which I had to have partially rebuilt!
Sorry, no we didn’t. We were nowhere near Flam and there were no excursion to it, although it would have been nice to do it.
A Plane was moved from Shannon airport to a flying museum easiest way was to float it on a barge down the river it was some 10 years ago, but these photos i took at the time just showed up on my facebook memories. thought i would share them here.

That would have been very interesting. John Travolta’s QANTAS 707 is supposed to be arriving at the local HARS museum from the US any day now.
It was originally supposed to have been flown over but there were heaps of problems with that so it was dismantled and is being shipped over. This saga has happened over many years, Travolta himself has been to HARS a few times I believe.
They also have a QANTAS Boeing 747 but that only had to be flown from Sydney, the local airport (Shellharbour) runway was a bit short for a 747 but they practised in a simulator and it landed safely.
What a coincidence, I mentioned John Travoltas plane yesterday but it actually arrived in Wollongong today.
No photos I am afraid but you might be interested in the video of it arriving.
Here are some of the 747 that they have at HARS
This a replica of Kingsford Smith’s Southern Cross that they completed and now fly (Sydney airport is named after him.)
My Daughter is in America & she took this photo of John Denver’s memorial plaque in Monterey Bay. The place where his plane crashed. ![]()
A pair of Canada Geese taking a stroll with their newly hatched goslings. Taken with my mobile phone.
Not as exotic as Canada Geese but a couple of Magpies pretended not to notice me from on high as I walked by.
They are quite a bit different to our Magpies Bruce.
I saw your picture and one came to settle on the house behind…I couldn’t resist taking his photo. He was a long way away though…
They look like little waiters with their snow white bibs.
