Photos to share anybody?

Hi Mr realspeed.
I have had previous cameras. The first was a Russian Zorki film camera about a century ago then a Minolta but now I have a Canon which is pretty good. I use it for the 18-55 lens and the telephoto lens for 70-300. Just my hobby…

Expensive hobby.

The advantage with this lens it is a constant f2.8 lens at 35mm or 100mm. Also the barrel movement is internal so the lens stays at one length. this copy is razor sharp. May other copies may vary.
I was in the Nikon camp before which was a rival to canon. My manageress had a Canon so got a chance to try one out as well. She passed away a few years ago
now.
Those Russian film cameras were popular and well made not that I owned one personally but had chance to use other peoples. I had and still have a German Voitlander Vito CL .It had this as a 21st birthday pressie 60 years ago
I always had a problem with the colour red with Nikon irrespective of lens make . ER indoors who must be obeyed said i had to get rid of all the nikon gear due to weight etc. So P/x the camera and lenses and went over to Panasonic and their MFT range. Sneakily I now have the same number of lenses that I had with Nikon  and 2 cameras the Pana G9 and the G9ii.

yes Bruce expensive camera/lens wise but how can you equate cost against interest and indulging in a hobby. In my case i prepared well in advance while working to build up kit over a few years.

What is cost??? to a poor person £100 is a lot of money. To a well off person it not . so if can afford enjoy a hobby while one can.

It really doesn’t matter what one takes a photo with, I always say that if the person taking the photo is happy with the photo, then it is good enough. Does it really matter what others think? nice though if others like as well is a bonus

I think it does, I tried taking a photo with my power drill, absolutely useless.

BTW I wasn’t criticising the expense of your lens it was just a comment, I know you like spending money on camera stuff. I enjoy using my cameras, camcorder as well as my drone

I think you are right on with that, Mr realspeed.

Yep!
I’m thinking of going for an F4 at some point during the summer.
Sourcing one from Japan might just be the way to go!
Analogue photography obviously

I’m sorry for going off topic (I usually do ) But that brought back some memories.
Back in 1991 we were on holiday in Malta, the hotel was situated at the bottom of a very high hill that overlooked the Island of Gozo and especially the hotel complex.
Lounging around the pool on a hot afternoon I looked up at the dominating hill and decided that it would be an ideal place to photograph the hotel.
Hills have always been my speciality as a fell runner, so I swept up my camera and started for the exit of the hotel.
Before I had gone a few yards I heard the bloke next to me ask Mrs Fox “Where’s he going?”
She replied that I was going to climb the hill and take photos of the hotel.
He gave me his camera and asked if I would also take a few pictures on his camera.
Two or three other blokes gave me their cameras also, so after hanging them around my neck I headed for the entrance to the hotel, where a burly security guard beckoned me over with the words “sénior?”…I must have looked like an opportunist thief making off with all those cameras…
:open_mouth:
We sorted it out and I made a dash for the summit of hill…I don’t think the security guard would have caught me anyway… :009:
