Photos to share anybody?

It’s always interesting to look back on the way things were. ‘The Francis Frith Collection’ has old photos of many UK places. I look at the Aldershot ones and remember some of the streets/places/cars being as shown in some of the photos.

Not a common photo, I’m sure.
A FOOT?

camera select
bit different pkoto from norm. this is a 6K. Done with a panasonic G9 camera and a 45mm prime panasonic lens.
so what is different?
In 6
6k mode in works as a vidoe fore as long as the shutter button is held down. it then processes each frame. there a 2 ways of getting a still like this. Either by choosing a frame from the video on a computer or let the camera select one instead.
This is completely new to me so still in the experimental stage, but so far looking good

This was as close as my drone would let me fly to the power pole, Trying to force it forward did not work. It was about 1 metre away.

The top layer is 22,000v (I think) the bottom 240v house supply Obviously both are three phase but the household supply has a neutral

Edit: too many noughts.

Very clear and detailed Bruce.

Great photos Bruce, but aren’t the bottom two cables 240 volt x 2 and not 3 phase as the top three?

No, OGF definitely three phases plus neutral - the transformer is a couple of poles away. My house has two phases supplied (how I I have wished in the past that there were three).

Old houses like mine always had at least two phases because the cooker was divided into two to reduce the current on each phase. Most modern cookers are supplied for one phase but can be divided into two for old houses like mine.

You have to balance the load over all three phases otherwise the generators rumble, complain and will trip if one phase has more (or less) load than the others.
