Just had a go hand held of a photo of the moon using the Pana G9 and 100-400mm lens @400mm. One problem to overcome was the brightness of the moon
So took a couple of step to avoid this. First using a fast shutter speed 1/5000 sec, then adding a dark polarising filter to darken it down further. finally into the editing suit

not perfect by any means but for a first attempt it will do

I went back to look at that battery installation:

I just find that sort of thing interesting.

You could make a video and give the Rhinos a run for their money.

Apparently there is a type of martial art that requires shaved pubic hair. Isn’t that unusual?

Sounds nutty

I try to keep my videos more exclusive, they are aimed at a very niche market of the bogan connoisseur, We don’t want to frighten the horses.

Exposing the great unwashed to herds of Rhinos is one thing but the delights of pole mounted batteries are quite another. Polite society is just not ready for it.

Just being pedantic, that’s a telegraph pole not a power pole, I used to climb those for a living before I went into radio, they were known as DPs (Distribution Pole) because they distributed the phone lines to the houses from the underground cable

Interestingly in towns and cities, Australia put all its phone lines underground but its power was usually overhead, The UK was the opposite. Now of course it is all underground in new suburbs, the councils put in extra ducting so the road never needs to be dug up for the utilities.

My power still comes in overhead but my internet fibre comes in the old phone copper wire ducting.

With the current price of copper there is a lot of money buried in those ducts doing nothing.

Thanks Bruce, d00d and Besoeker, this is electric eye candy for me. Perhaps we should have dedicated thread for ‘Electrics and Installations’…
Thanks for making an old’ish man happy…

My pic (not the telegraph telegraph pole) was taken in a tube station, you see wires like that in lots of stations.
