People who don’t ask questions

Some folks don’t bother to ask an uninterested person “Why”.

Ok Spitty .
I am interested to know why you write in such a short cryptic way .:slight_smile:

To keep people interested.

Really ?
As you see your reply only elicited a one word response .

Yes. it’s what you don’t say that matters.

To speak in such a way throws the burden of conversation onto the other person .
In short it’s a lazy way to communicate requiring the least effort from yourself .

I don’t think so, I was once a great conversationalist.

I not heard Weegie before , had to ask Google :wink:
You’re a Glasgow girl :heart_eyes:

See, being economical with words is generally preferable, to being economical with the truth.

It used to be more fashionable, didn’t it? Strong silent type, silent strength, that sort of stuff

You can’t do it in social settings with people you don’t know well, but the people who are most relaxing and closest to me are the people I can just share companionable silences with

I have sat down to an evening meal, with quite a few of my friends, it seems they were far more needy than I to talk.

So I just let them get on with it and listened, they never came up for air, it’s quite interesting being an observer at times, as I’m sure we all are.

Anyway at the end of the meal, one of my friends looked across at me and said.

“ You’re quiet tonight Pauline”…:rofl::joy::sweat_smile::open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:

Because they know they are uninterested…:joy::open_mouth:

I know when someone is interested in what I have to say.

I also recognise a WUM…:joy::rofl::open_mouth:

It’s nice to be nice and showing interest in others is nice

I love observing and I love listening and watching situations and people , much more interesting than talking about myself

Apparently talking about yourself light activates the same areas of the brain that light up when eating good food, taking drugs, and having sex :rofl:

Thats a very good point PK.

On a sorta related theme, … funerals.

Whenever I go to them nowadays and listen to the wonderful eulogies, I cannot but help reflect that I’ve done sod all in my life and that it won’t take a long service to send me to the incinerator.

Some one I know well was single and lonely some years back and joined a dating site .
He felt his job ( HGV ) driver was putting off potential lady friends .
I suggested he just say I work for an Auction House ( the absolute truth )
Worked a treat .

All I want people to say at my funeral is I loved my children and horses .
