Over 50's Wales Club

I heard on TV that you had winds of 60 mph, Jac, in Mumbles. Sp not surprised the earth (sand) moved. I met someone this morning going to Swansea to see Hull play Swansea (Hull fan) today. I suggested he take a raincoat and something warm.

Twins just been in for a few hours again before going off to do more visiting. They are very excited as they are picking up a kitten from Cats Protection in Bridgend tomorrow.

Was pouring all night and morning and blowing a hooley here! Still had to water the runner beans though, the foliage is so thick no water can reach the roots (they are in tubs on the patio).

Had two new mattresses delivered yesterday, one for carers and one for me. Iā€™ve gone up in the world (about 2 inches) and my feet donā€™t touch the ground when I sit on the edge! Did the right thing though, got up this morning without backache!

Have had such problems over the last few weeks with Robā€™s wheelchair that I rang the wheelchair people yesterday morning and made waves!! Result! They sent a (different from the one we have had) engineer yesterday evening, and Iā€™m keeping fingers crossed that heā€™s adjusted the thing correctly now and we wonā€™t have more trouble with the back collapsing.

Cheering for Nick Skelton and the Girls Hockey team - have so enjoyed the Olympics - even saw the synchronised swimming yesterday afternoon!

I hated Hockey with a vengeance since I was in school. Amazed myself watching it and getting very excited. Still blowing a gale. Tonights nurse from the Isle of Wight. Problems coming over as ferries cancelled due to weather. Todayā€™s nurse has to go back there onight. Hope he makes it, although I have offered my spare bedroom for Ā£35 a night

I hated hockey too Celyn - we played on a field on the top of Townhill in Swansea and it was always like the last place on Godā€™s earth, wet and windy! I donā€™t ever remember a fine day - and the bruises, oh my!!

Just watching the finals of the diving - poor Tom Daley , the wheels came off this afternoonā€¦

I think Tom Daley has taken on too much of a celebrity status. Too much partying with celebs and his fiancĆ©. You donā€™t see other athletes living such a highstyle life. I wonder if this will be the last we see of him. His last dive was so bad. I think I have enjoyed this Olympics more than London, and watched rather different sports than I normally would. Have to catch up on Moā€™s run in the morning.

Enjoyed watching some of the Olympics and will be glad when they have finished. Raining here this morning and I only need a few things from the shops so that can wait till later.

I used to play hockey on that place in Townhill Sue . I hated those navy knickers we had to wear and I could never get interested in the game.
Lovely sunshine when I got up . Cleaned my window because the high wind had blown salt all over . Sweated buckets and now the rain has come back, not windy though

Itā€™s a wonder we never met on that hockey field Jac! Oh those navy knickers!!

Vanessa arrived this morning and we took Rob out to lunch at the Golf Club, came back and have watched the mountain bike racing at the Olympics - if anyone had told me I could sit and watch that for an hour Iā€™d have said they were off their rockers.

Will be back on the phone again on Monday morning. Believe it or not Robā€™s wheelchair has collapsed again. It lasted all of 12 hours after the engineer ā€œadjustedā€ it on Friday evening. Grrrrr!!!

Pouring here all day and very gloomy
Just been busy with the hoover ,nothing more exciting lol

Hairdressers then into town today and a look round the shops. Weather has been dry here and some sunshine,

Incredibly hot already. Walked dogs, and just brushed all the seeds and burrs out of their coats that they collected en route. Next job tracheostomy change for Michael. Then flop, I think. Canā€™t do too much in this heat.

Really hot and sunny here today but a good breeze up .I cant sit out in it like I used to.
Tide is right in and quite big waves so a lot of little kids in jumping the waves. A bit of a worry when there has been a few drownings .they dont realise how strong the currents can be

What a difference in two days, didnā€™t stop raining yesterday, lovely warm sunshine today.
Went to visit an ex door neighbour this morning, she is in the early stages dementia-such a shame sheā€™s a lovely lady.

Good evening everybody no sunshine here today again. Jac I can understand how you feel after the drownings at the weekend. We always keep and eye on the boys when we are on holiday.

I donā€™t know why iā€™m bothering to go to bed tonight. I think it may be far too warm to sleep. Itā€™s still 23 here at 10 p.m.!! Dogs are panting. Cats are hanging out of the windows. Like being abroad tonight. Those warm balmy nights you sit outside watching the stars. Well I can dream

Really hot sunshine here this morning but its clouded over now and quite grey and cool.
Looks like rain
Iā€™ve cleaned my kitchen drawers out , cant believe the rubbish Iā€™ve thrown out so job well done

We had some sunshine here. I visited my friend today and did some shopping and a bit of gardening.

So cross. After re-arranging my week so that we would be home when the wheelchair engineer was supposed to come today, at 9.20 am had a phone call to cancel the appointment - one is supposed to be with us on Friday - but Iā€™m not holding my breathā€¦

Thats a nuisance Sue ,not good for the blood pressure lol
Light drizzle here all morning but sun breaking through now so Iā€™ve chanced my bed sheets out on line
My tomatoes have just ripened out on balcony .Really late this year

My middle grandson has had 5cā€™s in his gcscā€™s.So proud of him, considering he has Aspergerā€™s, heā€™s done really well.
