Really grey day here, but I’ve been stitching, making some soup and reading my book and now the snooker is on. I’m content.

Have been talking to Jac, she’s thinking about coming on here - just thinking about it!

Being inundated by wasps for the last few days. The six houses in this row are being pestered too. There’s probably a nest somewhere near.Put the old trick of a jam jar filled with water with a bit of marmalade round the rim outside so that they’re attracted to that and not fly into the house. The dog swallowed one this morning but wasn’t stung.
Hope Jac joins us.

Counted 18 dead wasps on the kitchen window sill yesterday. There doesn’t seem too many around this morning.Hope that’s it for the invasion this year.
Going to your neck of the woods tomorrow doc-Pontyberem and Pontyates.

I thought we were supposed to be having a lovely sunny week. Well until about 4 pm and was cloudy and pretty chilly here with a northeast wind. Watching “Changing Rooms” with Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen - wonder where they dug him up from…

I wondered why I liked you John - it’s all clear now

When were you in Cardiff last? it’s changed quite a lot over the years (especially when Labour were in govt) much more of world class city now :003:

Sue, I thought the same! I went for a walk and even though the sun was out, it just felt like spring - a bit too cold for me

2008.that’s 13 years isn’t it
It’s just the right size for a city, not too big but big enough to be interesting with lots of parks. This is my home now but I wouldn’t mind going back just for a visit (especially when it’s 40c here :))

Didn’t get to go to Pontyeats yesterday-my friend who I was meant to visit had a stomach bug so I just visited Pontyberem. The caravans were out in full force on the M4 heading down West.
G,grandaughter’s been in the Heath overnight-her shunt was playing up but she’s on her way home now thank goodness.
No plans for the Bank Holiday weekend, probably gardening.

Oh is it a Bank Holiday again? It doesn’t seem to make much difference to us out in the sticks - apart from an increase in tourists. My DIL works in Hay and says atm it is heaving - I’m giving it a wide berth, apart from a necessary visit to the Surgery yesterday for more anti-biotics for Rob. I don’t know why tourists think they can walk in the roads just because it’s a small town, they wouldn’t live long if they did that in a city.

Hi, this is an automated message from your friendly Over50sChat bot :039:

Just a quick note to say a new thread about Wales has been posted  You can view the thread here:

https://forum.over50schat.com/t/the-physicians-of-myddfai-and-the-birthplace-of-modern-medicine/84257

Don’t forget you can view our mini-forum for Wales here: Wales Forum | Over 50s Chat (over time as more threads about Wales are posted here they will show up there, and when search engines index the forum it will mean more people searching for ‘over 50s in Wales’ will be more likely to spot the forum… and… hopefully… register and join in with you all :003:)

Hey everyone, I just updated our bot to post a notice in this thread whenever a new thread about Wales is posted on the forum (just in case any of you miss it). I’ve added the same functionality for the Over 50s Scotland Club too :003: (and we can do the same for an England or Ireland club if anyone starts a club thread for those too).

Hope you like this feature

What better way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday than cleaning the oven!
Hope you enjoyed your meal yesterday and you were successful in your kitchen hunt-doc.

Think I’m going to change into a thicker jumper - I’m cold. August - is it really? There is a north/east wind and no sign of sunshine. Well, must be thankful that I’m not cleaning the oven Rhosyn! Think I may have found a gardener to come and do a lot of cutting back - I’m currently living next to a jungle… Watch this space…
