Over 50's Wales Club

just managed to get a Tesco slot for Sunday after Xmas day .Save me asking kids to help out.
Really wet one here and cold so a fireside day
Shame about your plans Sue . Swansea is really bad at the moment . Nadia is heading back to Liverpool today so hope all goes well
Take care xxx

Got up early this morning to pop to Hay for odds and ends. Came back to find middle son and assorted workmen starting to replace the roof on our old work place - only about a year too late, it has been letting in water for some time, luckily only junk stored out there. We have had a really heavy shower since I came home so they had to take shelter in the workshop! Treated myself to two croissants for breakfast. Never seen anything so flaky - had to do a big clear up afterwards!

Some sunshine here and quite windy . Looks like it might rain so bit of washing drying indoors .
Granddaughter may visit later
I.ve been looking to see whats on TV over Xmas , not impressed
Have a safe one xx

Well were’re in lockdown at midnight.Must be a serious mutation of the virus to do it so quickly.
Stay safe and take extra care.

Not good news re the Virus and no end in sight.
I dont mind being on my own for Xmas day but feel for the youngsters
Sunshine and showers here but not cold

Went to Tesco by 6.30. this morning.Got everything ready for Christmas.People were sensible-no reaching over you to get things and keeping their distance. No more visits to shops for a while.
Stay safe.

You can tell Christmas is coming. Last week, central heating boiler on the blink and broken window hinge. Today small fridge in Rob’s room is defrosting by itself. Heating engineer is trying to sort boiler. Window hinge has been mended and new fridge coming on Thursday (fingers crossed).

Am debating whether to shop on Wednesday (probably at crack of dawn), b ut may forego it altogether if I think I can manage. Going to middle son for lunch on Christmas Day - they are my bubble. Youngest son may pop over to collect presents but won’t stay.

Decorating, courtesy of youngest grandson is just about finished. Present packing will continue this afternoon. One Amazon parcel has gone astray, but may yet turn up, courtesy of Royal Mail.

Horrible misty, wet day. Not up to doing much so glad the Soaps are all on tonight
Keep safe xxxx

Overcast and damp here . Lots of surfers in
My daughter called yesterday and brought me a box of nice bits to eat over the holiday .
my s-i-l is upset that there will only be 3 of them for Xmas lunch ,usually a table full
Keep safe xxx

Youngest grandson here again, but we hav en’t done a lot today. (Just a bit of dusting and put the cards up). Played Scrabble and watched TV - have a feeling I shall have square eyes after the holiday.

Going to brave the weather and go and do a bit of shopping locally. Hope there’s something left in the Co-op.

Pouring down.
Don’t feel very Christmassy.Son no1 getting a couple of things for me which I forgot.Son no2 coming from across the bridge this afternoon. He’s taken a Covid test which was negative and since he’s in my bubble and lives alone he’s allowed to come and I live alone. The rules are complicated but he’s checked if it’s ok.Won’t be happy until he walks through the door.
Stay safe.

Misty and overcast here . I’ve not done much .Watched the news and feel so sorry for the lorry drivers stuck here .
Keep safe xxxx

After listening to the 6 pm news decided not to go shopping. One of my carers offered to get some odds and ends for me and will bring them on Thursday, so that’s it, I’m staying home.

Heating engineer has just been with a couple of bits for the boiler, but it has to be replaced after all. Just hope I can keep it going until next week when he thinks he can get another one.

Royal Mail parcel still not turned up. Their tracking system will have nothing to do with me and I can’t see how to claim a refund from Amazon. Grrr!

I do feel sorry for those lorry drivers - and the people of Dover who are finding people urinating in their gardens and people stuck in cars without any supplies. We must count our blessings.

I hope this link will help you Sue …

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=orc_hp_s_retest?ie=UTF8&nodeId=1161018

Thanks Mags but that link only seems to deal with refunds for returned items. I can’t return anything because I haven’t received the parcel! Tried to access RM with the tracking number but the site isn’t responding to me.

Lovely sunny day here, new fridge has been delivered and the youngest grandson has landed and is watching Kung Fu Panda. I’m cooking a small gammon joint which is smelling very strongly!

Nice to see the sun.
Turns out I do have an UTI,Had call from doctor yesterday,on antibiotics-crash course of them for 3days.
Son no2 arrived 3-30 yesterday. He’d had a negative result on his Covid test so he knew he was safe to come.
Been doing some cooking and some prep ready for tomorrow.
My heart goes out to those poor people who’s homes have been flooded.
Stay safe.
