Over 50's Wales Club

Overcast and chilly here. There are a few surfers in.
Bit of news yesterday . My18 yr old great grandson called down with his mum and told me i’m going to be a great-great-grandma !!!Mixed feelings but they seemed happy about it
Keep safe xx

Think you’re right about the parasol Rhosyn, it’s horrible here, rain and wind. Have just made a load of lemon curd for my carers. They’ve been so good about coming in for Rob.

Jac - I see Michael has gone into hospital. Celyn must be devastated and so strange to be in the house on her own, apart from the animals of course.

Another overcast and chilly one
My daughter called yesterday and she has been saying she is going to leave her red colour in her hair grow out and let the grey come through .Joe decided to help her by giving her a haircut . She has got about an inch of hair all over !!.Didn’t know what to say except "oh well it will grow " !!
Keep safe !!

Not so cold this morning.Put the heating on for a bit yesterday evening, house felt cold.
Got some first of the season lovely fresh broad beans to go with my chicken for lunch.Love broad beans, looking forward to the fresh peas coming into season.
Celyn must feel lost,poor thing.
Keep safe.

I do feel for Celyn. The difference in being in the house on your own (waiting for news) and having at least two nurses looking after Michael must be immense. I do hope she takes the opportunity to rest though. I didn’t realise how tired I was until I got full care for Rob.

Glugging water atm. Found some ribs in the freezer which Rob liked but I found rather on the warm side.

Up at daft o’clock this morning, done quite a few chores. Will be flagging by lunch time.
Had a thick head yesterday(not a hangover-don’t drink). Finally it cleared by early evening.
Have a good day,keep safe.

Still overcast and chilly here
Been busy with hoover and just finished Tesco order so that’s me finished
I’m waking up at daft aclock these days as well . Try to go back to sleep but may as well get up
Keep safe xx

Rob’s new parasol arrived this afternoon and the delivery driver (who had been in school with Rob) helped me put it up - good job he did, it was quite a performance. Then an hour later the Asda order arrived. Some clot had packed a container of milk on its side at the bottom of a bag and it leaked all over everything. Amazing how far a drop of milk can spread.

I’m waiting for my Tesco to come .
Chilly day but no rain yet .Hope you get to use the parasol soon Sue
Take care xxx
.

The parasol is under its cover and likely to stay there for a while! Not raining here yet, but the forecast is pretty dire for later.

Jac, I’ve only just noticed your news about becoming a great great grandma! That’s quite something, there can’t be many of those around.

Casserole of meatballs and tomato sauce with spice in the oven, and more jigsaw. I’m getting lazier and lazier…

Not too bad this morning, rain forecast later.
Went to B&M yesterday to get a new hard brush-didn’t have any but still managed to spend £25.76!
No plans for today-taking the day as it comes.
That blouse thingy the sewers had to make last night was a terrible looking garment. Our pal Nicole is still there Sue!
Have a good day,keep safe.

Its been raining and still overcast .No plans so TV later I suppose
Take care xxx

Soggy day here, so I’ve finished my jigsaw and put a cake in the oven for the gang. Just had a chat with DIL on the phone too.

I loved Nicole’s flamenco skirt, but her facial expressions are something else aren’t they. Poor Mark, I thought he would go - always seems to chose the wrong fabric. I was amazed that Matt could make a flamenco skirt out of scuba fabric! Never heard of a terno blouse, you learn something every day.

Just put a bit of washing out but I’ll have to keep an eye out for rain.
Not got much planned
Keep safe xxx

Weekly shopping trip to Tesco,it’s getting more and more boring ,but I should be glad I can go.
Pup got hold of my specs yesterday, had a good chew before I realised he had them.Using my upstairs pair for now.Ordered a new pair of bifocals on line this morning.Had my optometrist prescription from last year.Never ordered specs on line before.Didn’t get an expensive pair as I’m due for eye test in August-Covid permitting.
Have a good day,keep safe.

You’ll never guess what turned up in the post yesterday - Rob’s shielding letter - better late than never I suppose. Bit of a waste of paper. But at least we now have priority slots at the supermarket.

A friend has asked me to do some calligraphy for doctors who are retiring. Said I would, but nearly had a fit this morning when I saw how long the “Ode to Dr. Pete” is. 14 verses (which don’t scan very well and have some really long lines). I’ve spent the whole morning and an hour after lunch trying to fit it onto a piece of A3 paper and I’m failing miserably. To add to the problem I can’t get my finest, smallest pen nib to work. May have to admit defeat…

We had plenty of rain yesterday and looks full of it today.
waiting for Karen to pop down to take my recycling down . Nothing else planned
Keep safe xx

Showers this morning, got caught in one but luckily it was on the way home.
Feeling a bit down today-my best friend died 5yrs ago today. We were friends for over 40yrs and never a cross word.Think of her every day but more so today.
No plans for today.Keep safe.

Hope you feel better soon Rhosyn xx
Not a bad day so far,sun is trying to stay out.
Some horses and surfers down on the beach.
Got a few jobs done so relaxing now xx
Keep safe xx

Rob’s birthday today, but no family lunch at the Golf Club. First time we’ve missed for many years. Lots of good wishes from friends, a video call with Vanessa and a flying visit from Joy and the boys. Weird weather. Quite warm, but showery and then glorious sunshine from about 3.30 onwards.

Sorry to hear you are down Rhosyn, better tomorrow.
