Feeling better today,will be even better later on -granddaughter and the children are coming for a garden visit.
Going to make some corned beef pasties,as requested by granddaughter also leek and potato soup.

Ooo that sounds good, corned beef pasties. Must try that. Have a tin of cb on order from Asda, coming Wednesday. Had liver and onions & bacon for lunch, yum. As thereās loads left for another meal.
Thought the forecast was dodgy for this afternoon, but it must have changed, showing sunshine all the way now. Have just been having a discussion with DIL re electric fly killers. Despite hanging up a fly paper, the little bu**ers are driving me nuts in the kitchen.

Talking about wishing youād never started it ā¦ said yes to doing a piece of calligraphy for a friend without seeing it! Itās an āodeā to a retiring doctor - which is fine, but, (a) itās 14 verses long and some of the lines are too long to fit, and Iāve already spent two mornings on it and getting nowhere fast.
The flies are still driving me nuts in the kitchen and DIL says to electric fly killers wonāt deal with the big black ones, only fruit flies! So itās back to the spray - and covering everything beforehand.
Sorry, Iām a moaning minnie this morning - and it looks like rainā¦
Dry first thing-now pouring down.
My new specs arrived this morning,very pleased with them.Will have no qualms about using the service again,once I have my eyes tested hopefully in August.
Beef brisket cooking in the slow cooker,will see me through a couple of days.

Have bitten the bullet and phoned my friend and told her I canāt cope with the calligraphy project. Not like me to give up, but Iāve spent far too much time on it and am getting nowhere fast, so best to admit defeat.
Was very impressed with the Salisbury Poisonings programme thatās been on for the last 3 nights. Did you see it?
Had my Asda order this morning - no frozen chicken, no Ryvita, but must be thankful for the essentials!

My weekly shopping trip to Tesco done in the pouring rain.Feel so sorry for those poor people whoāve been flooded again.
Had my specs from glasses2you.co.uk.Sent order on the 12th,got them on the 15th.Did pay extra for special delivery but still it was good service.
Sounds as if shops will be opening here next week not that I shall be rushing to go shopping other than for food.Wish the 5mile rule would be scrapped.Think thereās a lot of people who donāt adhere to it(granddaughterās one!)

Wales reopening on July6th!!
Well, donāt tell anyone, but I flouted the 5 mile rule this afternoon. Went to Aberedw to wish my baby a happy 50th birthday! Sat in the garden (nearly froze) and as soon as it became a bit more crowded I came away! Felt really strange to be socialising - with a bit of lipstick on!!
I think Claire will win the Sewing Bee Rhosyn. Sheās definitely been the most consistent.

I broke the 5mile rule this morning(45miles over!)
I visited my parents grave to put flowers there for fatherās day tomorrow.I went early-straight there and straight back.
It was lovely to see such a lot of Foxgloves in the hedgerows.

Thank goodness the sun is shining this morning. Itās been a bit of a job keeping up with the laundry these past few days. (I used to take all Robās sheets and towels to the hospital for laundering, but havenāt been there since March, thought it better to stay away).
Made a cake, put it back in the oven - just for a minute - and nearly forgot it so itās a rather dark tan. Having bacon and eggs for lunch as I want to use up some bacon, not exactly inspiring but Rob likes it. Will have to scrabble in the freezer for tomorrow.
Did I mention that the jigsaw (came from a friend) that Iām doing arrived without the edge pieces? I imagine she had it from a charity shop, itās very pretty. What on earth would be the reason for throwing out all the edges???
Strange thing happened last night . I woke in the early hours,thought i could see lightening flashes . Got up and looked out and there were three lights red,white and blue on the edge of sea which was half was out . There were streaks of white light coming off them . I went out on balcony but havenāt a clue what was going on ?? Any ideas ??
