Over 50's Club Scotland

Afternoon, raining here at the moment, Caught the bus over to Braehead and went to M&S for a bottle of wine and other things. Having some lunch before I go to the hairdressers.

Getting a tad gusty here but I bet it’ll be nothing compared to north of Hadrian’s Wall.
I could have sworn I read the other day that there’s going to be early snowfall up in Scotland in the next week or so.

There’s already snow up in the Cairngorms, not much but enough to make you shiver.

Oh, I like it !!

OMG it’s getting wild out there, the house has been shaking with some of the gusts. It’s making me more than a bit nervous. There’s going to he damage that’s for sure. :anguished: :face_with_spiral_eyes: :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I hope you don’t have too much damage Rox. Blowing a gale here as well but not as bad your area.

Well it’s 12.30 pm and I was wakened with a banging outside,…One of the SH doors has been blown half off its hinges and there’s nothing I can do to fix it as it’s pitch black, pouring with rain, and blowing a gale…We weren’t expecting the wind to be as strong here as it is up North,…so I’ll just have to let it do its worse and see what the damage is in the morning…Should have had it demolished before this anyway as it’s falling to bits with rot…I won’t get back to sleep now.

I trust we all survived the night. It was pretty hellish out there but calmed down this morning…so far!

Good Morning Folks, wind has died down a bit here but still heavy rain,
I managed to secure the SH door first light, and the only other damage was a soaking wet rug and fallen branches from the trees…funnily enough the bins had hardly moved at all,I hear the power is off in some places further North,
Keep safe All
See Ye A’ later,x

Good morning the wind has died down here thank goodness. There doesn’t seem to be any damage that I can see so far. Meeting one of my friends later for lunch in Renfrew.

Good to hear you reporting in that all is well … except for Roxy?

I hate storms. They scare me, even down here in the calm English countryside. It sounds too wild up Scotland.

Been and had my annual flu jab this afternoon so I need to rest my arm … hee, hee, that’s what I tell Mr M so he can wait on me hand and foot.

Good morning Each, everything’s back to normal @ Chez Moi…sun is shining,a mild breeze, washing on the line, cold symptoms gone, feeling good…so…I’m not going to watch/listen to the rotten news…After My breakfast of porridge I’ll tidy up the fallen branches & leaves in the garden, give the paths a sweep, put a chicken in the oven for lunch later…sorted
Have a good Sunday Folks & I’ll see Ye A’ later,x

Rox is ok She’s posted elsewhere yesterday,

Morning, We still have the tail end of the storm, winds have dropped to around 50mph and supposed to blow it’s self out by lunch time. Then the cleanup starts, downed trees, downed fences, roof damage, the usual. Going to Perth in a few days for my appointment at Edinburgh Royal. Not sure if they’re going to give me an operation date but it would sure be handy if they did.

Morning. Sun’s is out at the moment and still a bit of a wind blowing. My neighbours tree is nearly bald as all the leaves have been blown away. Saves me the job of sweeping them up. My friend and I changed our minds yesterday about lunch and we’ll go on Thursday.

Winter’s well and truly on it’s way … but look on the bright side!
How many weeks is it till Christmas?
Because by then we’ll also have had the shortest day and the nights will start to get lighter again.

Aye. The winter solstice is on 21st Dec

Good Morning Folks,a dullish mild one here but more rain on the way,

The time is going too quickly for Me as it is without wishing the Winter away…I’m Scottish,… I live in Scotland…I expect rain/storms/snow in Autumn/Winter…If I didn’t like it I would have moved down South. :stuck_out_tongue:

See Ye A’ later,x

Morning, Just back from the pool and The Front, popped into Tesco on the way home for a few things… and then some, Ā£40+ I ended up paying. I really should stop browsing and just get what I need. It’s sunny and dry today but the Caithness Wind is back to normal and with a cold bite in it.

Evening. Out early this morning to go into for a facial. Went into a shop bought a jumper then in a few other shops for a look. Decided to go home early and found I’d left my phone in a shop. Panic stations till I gor my phone back from the first shop.
