Over 50's Club Scotland

Aberdeen is a place I’ve never been to, the nearest is along the coast in both directions lol. When we were young we often used to do an away day in the summer holidays and we went either to Stonehaven or Macduff, both included open air swimming pools, picnics, and beaches. Everything four wee Lassies could look forward to and enjoy. Such a shame the Tarlair at Macduff is the wreck it now is. If I’m able I would like to go and see it one more time, at least the big pool at Stonehaven is still going strong.

Yes I love sitting in there, it can get very hot in the summer though, I would like a big square kitchen with one of those island things in the middle of the floor, as a work top and someplace to have coffee and a snack.

Good morning. Rox the first time I went to Aberdeen I was 16 and it was with the youth club, then a few years ago I went with Bonnie and a few other friends. My kitchen isn’t big enough for an island, so I’ll see what the plans are like. Waiting for another book case to be delivered, so it will be a quick tidy up before they come.

Morning, Back to rain today, told David not to come and walk Dageus as there’s no point in the pair of them getting soaked through. I stood inside at the back door with the lunger, and threw the ball the length of the garden for him to chase and he’s now fast asleep in front of the fire.
Nothing to go out for so after lunch it’s the computer, jigsaw, and audio book for a couple of hours. I limited my book shelves to only 2 as I have far too many books, mostly audio ones but I have many stored on my computer in MP3.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Rox raining here as well after the lovely day yesterday, I think I’ll just stay home today and do some of my jigsaw.

Afternoon Dull and Dreich here but it’s dry. I had an hour with the Physio a short time ago and thanks to this virus I’m wacked out. Heading away to bed for a couple of hours sleep shortly or I’ll never stay awake to dinner time.
Hope your having a nice day.

Rox same weather here today, hope the Physio gave you some relief. Niece picked me to go for lunch then dropped me off again.

Not really, She put me through the paces despite me being really tired. I was so glad when she left and I zonked out to sleep for a few hours. She her again in 2 weeks, I wish she would just sign me off, I manage everything on my own, but at my pace.

Sheeeze I hate when I can’t sleep, went to bed and woke right up. This will begger me up tomorrow for sure. Regans’s coming to take me shopping then for lunch, be needing match sticks by then.

Morning Rox, hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Enjoy the shopping and lunch with Reagan today. I’m just getting over the cold ugh, niece coming to take me out later and maybe have some lunch. Enjoy your day.

Afternoon, Did all the shopping and had a look in the British Heart Foundation’s furniture store, I want a 3 seater black leather sofa, the Navy Leather suite I have just now is a two seater and I want to change it, but no luck will maybe pop up once a week and see what comes in. I’ve had some great stuff from them in the past.
We went to Dobbies for lunch so I got a nice Tuna/Cucumber Baguette with a side salad…Excellent. Washed down with a lovely big Latte.
Tired now but determined not to go for a sleep, will have an earlier night than usual and hope it works out for me.

My niece came and picked me up and we had a drive down to Largs, had a walk round and went for lunch. I’ve never had a leather suite, I like one made from material. Had a quick visit to M&S for some coffee and a few other things. I felt tired when I got in so closed my eyes for ten minutes.

Jess, I find leather suites so much easier to clean when you have a dog. I had a lovely cord one about 3 years ago but it got so dirty from Dageus’s feet, despite having a tartan rug on it for him to lie on.

Good morning. Rox I did look at leather suites, but some were to light or to dark. Going to visit my friend later with Sympathy cards her sister in Ireland died last weekend. Then the hairdressers and some food shopping.

Afternoon, Pouring with rain here, both David n Dageus got more than a bit wet…Sigh. Just tidying up to do and dry washing to fold and put away, then it’s feet up for a couple of hours. Enjoy your visit, allbeit a sad one.

Afternoon. No rain here today its been cold and also some sunshine appeared. Went to my friends and had a chat with her and her two sisters, I met the other years ago in Ireland. Did some food shopping after the hairdressers, then came and had a nap.

Hi all, I live on the West coast by the Clyde. Just me, daughter and kitty cat :smiley_cat:. In 2017, after just 2 months, lost autistic son to a rare cancer. We then moved to a smaller place but it was for the best in the long run.

Things were looking up and after 5 years of grief without support I was hoping to prepare for our retirement. The so-called “Golden Years”.

Then out of the blue, as we were planning our to-do list for upcoming July, hubby died unexpectedly at end of April 2022…

Now, it’s trying to rebuild our lives and hoping to find the rainbow amongst the grey clouds. Once more, no support …

It’s okay, I guess cause at the end of the day, nobody cares. Each and everyone ones of us have our own problems and we’re alone to deal with them. Sad but true…

Phone calls to Reverend goes unreplied. Thinks I’m crazy cause I asked for a blessing for hubby’s casket for his ashes. Never believed that wanting him to rest in peace was a wrong thing to ask for. Very strange!

Other calls goes the same way. Waiting for conclusions on contacts about 4 months ago, requires patience and I’ve been waiting and waiting.

It’s lonely most days. At least we’ve a bit of fun doing groceries. Yesterday was great, I’ve the habit of stocking up. So supplies are back on the shelves, neat!

First birthday yesterday without hubby but daughter made it wonderful :+1:as well as wee kitty!

Hoping to reach May in one piece and maybe find the courage to get back into my writing projects. I’ve just updated titles for my third series, which I was working on the day hubby died. Afterwards, I stopped everything writing wise.

Two weeks ago, creative juices flowed and I created new eBook covers. My fourth series, well it’s a bit messy as what I wrote down whenever I got inspiration, is on multiple wee documents lol!

Needs to be put in the correct order and slipped within the right chapter’s order. Unfortunately, I’ve no energy to do so.

I guess I’m feeling worst today as it’s the First of April and in 29 days, it’ll be the 30th and one year, hubby’s gone. Not much, although I’ve done a few bits on Todo list but with lack of funds that’s been slow going.

My zodiac sign makes it that I want everything done yesterday. Real life takes for ever. Very annoying…

Well enough about my troubles. Hoping things will improve next week.

Later all
Supernatural hugs

Hello Supernatural and welcome to our wee place, there are several Scots on the Site, it’s just getting them to remember to pop in and say Hello. I’ve been mostly house bound since the start of the New Year, smashed my leg up good n proper on black ice, just starting to get about again.
Daughter was here since 11am and we tackled all the jobs I’d been putting off, ie cleaning the top of the wardrobes and bookcases, I had actually been going to do it the day I fell, and so there was 3 months extra dirt up there. Did a bit in the greenhouse as well and weeded my tubs ready for bedding plants, also fired up all the solar lights, hope they all work. It tired me out but I’m glad it’s done.
Enjoy the rest of the day folks.

Hi Supernatural, the west coast of Scotland by the Clyde is a beautiful place to live, and welcome to the site. There used to be quite a few posting on here, don’t know what happened to them. Rox you seemed to have managed quite a lot today, hope you’ve now got your feet up. Got the bus down to Renfrew got on the bus going to the gym. I went to Braehead and went to Sainsbury’s for a change, wanted some Mac and Cheese and soup. Got a nice jacket in the sale in Joules shop, also a pair of shorts and leggings in Next. Now home and sitting with my feet up.

Hiya @valentinojess were you at the Braehead shopping centre? Was a bit worried after reading an article online during the Pandemic years. It said that the centre might close down.

I’d love to have the chance going back to Ikea. I’m wanting to pick up a recirculating fan for above the cooker. It would do double duty, besides taking smells out, I’d get extra lighting for cooking lol!

Hiya @Rox that’s a lot doing in a badly broken leg. Be careful and take your time. I’ve no longer a garden but I’ve got a grass artificial carpet, I need to cut to size for my wee area.

I then require some fine mesh netting. Once fixed up, it’ll be an area for kittoo to get some fresh air in safety. Also, it’ll permit us opening the door in summer without having to worry about losing the fur all lol!

I’m hoping they’ll do the render soon. Once that’s done, I can scrape the fence’s old paint and redo it properly. I hate flaking paint with a vengeance lol.

Looking forward to cool lunches or picnics by the Clyde this summer. Prawns, seafood sauce, wee square buns from Morrisons and garlic butter. Yum…

How long will you have a cast on your leg? The best trick when standing at the sink, it’s leaning in your good leg and putting your weight against the sink. I’ve to do that after 50 years of back pain. I’m a sucker for washing the dishes in the sink. About 5-10 minutes job done.

Take care all and thanks for replying. Nice to meet yous. I’ve to put dinner out for kitty and get fajitas ready for me and daughter. Cheers!
