Hi
Well I have most definitely got the mucus, gone through a box of hospital tissues since last night,
I have also got a very runny nose and headache.
I am sure you are bored after so little reading and TV, but donāt do too much too soon. They told my sister to avoid bending for at least 2 weeks after the op because it means the blood rushes to the head quickly and can cause problems.
Your op took longer than hers, so please donāt do too much till you get the āall clearā from them. No point taking any chances when it looks like you are on the mend!
Iāve been told to avoid heavy lifting such as heavy shopping bags, vacuum cleaners up & down stairs (no stairs in the Bungā) and bending below the waist for the first 2/3 weeks after the Opāā¦Iām not stupid Twinkā¦common sense is My middle Name
Daughter & SIL have just gone and They couldnāt help laughing at seeing Me without My specās on,She says āMum You look 10 yrs youngerāā¦woohoo
Sorry to hear Youāre in isolation SF hope itās just a bad cold and not covid,x
Twinks one of friends had here eyes done a few years ago and was told the same thing. No heavy lifting or bending down. SF, sorry to hear that and hope its not to bad. Managed to get to the shops and home without any showers, feeling a bit cold so heating is going on.
Everyone who has a cataract opā is given a booklet telling Them what They must not doā¦Iāve added a few to the list,
No gardening/no exercising/no jigging about to Gold Radio every morningā¦ ā¦apart from that itās the usual cleaning/cooking/washing/walking.
No swimming either I guess.
Defā notā¦plus no water must go anywhere near the eye even in the showerā¦tricky when shampooing hair.have to stand with back to shower and make sure water doesnāt trickle down faceā¦also no wearing face cream/moisturiser for a few weeks either.
Hi
It is most definitely COVID May, the third person in my bay of 6 on the Heart Ward to get it.
Both tests are back positive and am suffering a bit with my breathing.
Very pleased to hear your procedure went well and the annoying bit will soon be over.
It is a right performance to get into my room, gowned, gloves, fancy face mask and a full face visor.
No chance of getting seconds at meal timed or an extra coffee at all.
Jeeze SF Iām so sorry to hear that, covidās the last thing You need after all Youāve been through already (((((((HUGS)))))))))
I know you have common sense May, but when you are feeling better and you see something on the floor, that shouldnāt be there, it is so easy to forget the rules! My sister did a couple of times but thank heaven she is still able to squat, and the items were very light.
Just think how good it will be in the summer when you can see without your glasses and donāt have to keep wiping the condensation from the lenses. Sounds like you will be getting extra New Year kisses this year!
Good morning Each,a rather cloudy one here atm and heavy rain forecast for the afternoon,
Off to Daughters later for dinner so no cooking today
I read up on cataract surgery before My opā about the doās & donāts and took a tip and bought a grabber from Argos,so itās been a doddle picking up anything Iāve dropped on the floor and I even use it to get sox from My bottom sock drawer and to pick up My shoes to put on. ā¦Iām hoping once the left eye heals, appā will be made to do the right one asap,so maybe by My 80th in Febā I wonāt need specs except for reading.
Have a good Sunday all,xx
Morning all. Donāt know what the weather is going to be here. Cloudy with the sun trying to come out.
Canāt believe you are going to be 80 next year, May! There will be no hauding ye doon with your eyes done.
My neighbours came over last night which cheered me up. Canāt shake this cold still. We had a good blether and a wee refreshment.
My son is taking me out for a wee run later.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.
Good morning. Donāt know what the weather is going to do here either. Itās quite windy out there so might take a chance and hang out some washing. May canāt believe either that you will be 80 next year. Jean hope that the cold clears up soon, enjoy the run out with your son later.
Afternoon, Quite wet n windy hereā¦again. Seems to be the norm for me these days. Iāve got my jags this afternoon, not sure if itās one or two Iām getting. Dunc is going to drive me over to the town as I may not feel like driving afterwards. Still havenāt forgotten how the first one made me feel, it knocked me clean off my feet. Donāt want that to happen againā¦shudder.
Ventured out for a roll and bacon and a coffee, and a few things from the Co-op, it started raining so a taxi home for me. Now sitting with my feet up listening to Josh Groban, voice of an ange. Rox I go for my jags in two weeks, all my neighbours will be going at the same time.
Good Evening All,and what a cold wet windy one it is,
My SILs Mum was supposed to be having dinner with Us,
but She couldnāt make it as Sheās been ill since getting Her
booster/flu jags 3 days ago,cough/headache/runny nose/eyesāā'She never had any probs with the last lot of jags, but Sheās blaming them this time.
Iāve had a right old run around trying to book Mine on-line,
the quickest/closest I could get was Octā 31st at the Town Hall in Airdrie,a Town Iāve only been in once in My Life and that was for a Hysterectomy opā 30+ yrs ago at Monklands Hospā !..It would take Me 2 buses to get there,so a taxi it will have to be.
Hope Youāre ok after Yours Rox.
Iām just back May, I had one in each arm, Iām glad I got Himself to drive me as both my arms are sore and I would not have been comfortable driving all the way back from town. Iām also hoping to not have anything else happen, as I clearly remember my first Covid jag floored me for 3 days, it wasnāt nice at all.
May sorry to hear your S i Lās mother isnāt well after her jags. May that was the date of my last jags. Rox my arms were sore with the jags last year one arm then the other. Wind and rain has stopped here thnak goodness.
Evening all hope you are ok Rox. I had mine last Friday and only started to feel a bit better yesterday. Either it was the jag or a coincidence that I became unwell with cold and flu symptoms not the next day but the day after. Arms were sore for about 4 or 5 days.
Still covid was bad when I had it so better to get the jags.
Son took me up the Clyde side to look at the Christmas stuff in the garden centres. The rain was awful on our way back,
