Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

No way in hell could I get up on a Clyde without help, that’s one reason himself won’t let me go out on my own with one. I step up onto the gate spars and get on from there. If we’re away from home I put my foot into his hands and he shoves me up. Very undignifed but what can a lass do. :joy:  :joy: :horse:

Morning Campers, Dull with drizzle here but no wind so the ocean is like a calm pool. Talking of the pool that’s where I’m heading, been away for too long and need to get back before my knees start to stiffen up. They don’t open till ten today so I hope it’s not busy and full of kids. Taken Dageus for his walk so I’ll be fine away for a couple of hours. If Tesco’s carpark is not too busy I’ll go in and get the messages. Have a nice day.

Morning Rox and all. My Grandson is coming today. Granddaughter is going to the cinema but it is too much for James so he will stay with us while she enjoys her cartoons.
Need to go to the bakers for some fresh rolls. He loves a crisp roll for his lunch.
Have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon everybody, weather was quite mild here today. Went to the hairdressers, then into town to get some nibbles.

Morning, Filthy day here heavy rain and a cold wind, AND…It’s dark like late evening. :disappointed_relieved:
Had my swim and walked the dog, drove to Wick and got the big shop. Soooo apart from a few wee things I will be able to get in the Village Shop, I can relax for a few days. To be honest I’ll be glad come Monday and things start to return to normal.
Have a nice day now.

Good evening everybody, rotten day weather wise here as well. Hi May glad you enjoyed your time with the family. Rox I want to get to the butchers tomorrow, I have plenty of other things to eat in the freezer. Met up with Bonnie today and another friend for some lunch, first time I’ve seen them for ages.

That’s great Jess, I’m way too far north to meet up with anyone, even when I’m down in Perth it’s still a good bit to you ones areas. Plus I always have to have Dageus with me, as it’s too long for me to be away without him being let out.

Hi Rox, it was good to get out for a few hours, for something to eat and a glass of wine. Its a pity you cant meet up with your friends. Some of the restaurants here allow dogs in.

I meet up with friends and family when I’m in Perth, as they are as well. But I’d love a day out in Edinburgh or Glasgow just raking the shops.

Good morning everybody, grey skies here at the moment. Some food shopping on the cards for me this morning. Rox I love going through the shops on my own or with friends.

I used to drive through to Glasgow sometimes when I was teaching the Linedancing, I’d use the old rough ground carpark up at the end of Ingram Street and walk down to the main shops. There was a big clothing shop there, that had a basement and it was full of Linedance clothes they had brought over from the States. I used to spend ages in there. Can’t remember the name of it now. They also had a shop called Gothic in the same area, and my daughter was a nightmare to get out of the place, but it was full of the hippy stuff I’d have worn in the 60/70s. I only stayed in that area as it was all I knew.

Rox, cant think of the shop your talking about. I know there was lots of shops like that in Glasgow at one time. There is one shop I think its called Eurasia and they sell hippy style clothes I think its in Queen Street.

This was back in the middle 90s. Gothic was on the corner of Ingram St and a wee lane, it had the back door of a M&S beside it. Also down the lane was a wee indoor Market with lots of wee stalls and great rummage stuff. The shop that had the basement of Linedance gear was actually a big fashion shop, if you didn’t know about the basement you’d never have known it was there. It was a lady at a Linedance we were at who told me about it, I went searching the next week. I remember it was on the big street with no cars, that Ingram St is very close to.
Went and had a look on Goodle Earth to see if It was there but the whole area seems to have changed.

Just spent an hour on Google Earth trying to get my bearings of a different Glasgow from the bit I knew. I think I have it now, except for that shop with the Linedance stuff, I just can’t remember it’s name.
Anyway the carpark I used was just off the High St, It’s called Blackfriars Carpark and it’s alongside the railway lines. See Pic.
I’d come out of there, turn left down Blackfriars Rd (wee narrow lane) and onto Ingram St.
Turned left and a good way down on the left is a tiny alley called Virginia Pl, that’s where Gothic was on the corner as you went into the lane, and the market was about halfway down the lane on the left. It’s all closed up now but I recognised places there. (again see photo)
The Line dance shop I believe was in Argyll St.

Good morning everybody. Sorry Rox, I don’t remember that shop, maybe some of the others will. Last day of the year and it’s been raining as usual. Hairdressers then a look round the shops, before getting the train home.
