Good morning everybody. Quite windy here at the moment so its some shopping and a bit of housework.
Just given the lawns a last quick run over with the mower, cleaned, oiled, wrapped up and put away until next Spring…no…not Me…the lawnmower :-p…A darkening sky now and I have all the lamps lit,so it’s feet up,a nice cuppa coffee and a fruit scone Daughter baked and brought down earlier this Morn…Life’s good,
Started raining here and I wrapped up against, typical nearly home when it stopped. Made soup today so looking forward to some later.
Hello
Another great day in the Lake District today … apart from leaving my purse on a bus this morning (phew ! it was handed in all intact) and getting drenched in the pouring rain.
The weather improved this afternoon and apart from one short walk I’ve ticked all of my *to do" list and even managed a bus ride over the Kirkstone Pass and back … stunning scenery
Home tomorrow … catching the train at 11 am (here on a Shearings coach trip but travelling home independently for convenience) … I may even have time to do my walk alongside Lake Windermere if I get up early enough
Good Morning Each,a wee bit dreich here at the moment but a chink of blue in the sky has appeared,
That’s good news Your purse was handed back intact Myrtle, thank gawd for honest Folks,
Reading through some of the threads on the Site gave Me a few guffaws, the biggest troll complaining about wum’s,and the biggest wum complaining about trolls, :-p
Off to Tesco shopping.see Ya All later,xx
Glad you’re enjoying the lake District Myrtle , we went once and loved it .
You were so lucky getting your purse back . Nice to see there are still some decent folks around .
Some of the threads on here are beyond ridiculous . But vaguely amusing too in a weird sort of way !!
Getting ready today to go and visit my daughter who is not well and my grandson who has had a farm accident and has broken a bone in his foot .
Not going to be easy keeping a three year old still .
Might need a holiday when I get back !!
Sorry to hear Your Daughter is still poorly Abbey and I hope the wee Ones foot heals quickly (((((((((hugs)))))))))).x
Thank you May .
Myrtle that was good that some one handed in your purse. I was in M&S last week and some one left their purse at the counter I handed it in. Abbey hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery and your grandson is ok.May the weather is the same here this morning. Hairdressers then into town to meet friends for a coffee and a chat.
Thank you Jess , hope you have a good day .
Hi
Good morning all.
Hope your daughter is OK Abbey and good luck with keeping the 3 year old under control.
The two little ones where here yesterday, the 3 year old still fascinated by daddies in skirts.
They were watching Scottish dancing on youtube and then practising, great fun.
They are off to Poland on Saturday, is Poland ready for this Scottish invasion.
Good afternoon all. Dull day up here but dry. There has already been an invasion SF only it is the Poles that have invaded Scotland Many Poles working up here in Aberdeen and Polish food shops springing up all over the place.
Hi
Home safe and sound from Windermere :-). I’ve just got time to get my washing and ironing done ready for my weekend away to Whitby on Friday . Last one I promise … well until the 11th November anyway
Sending hugs to Abbey to pass on to your daughter and grandson
May … I was talking about you this morning to some people whilst I was waiting for the train home … I didn’t mention you by name of course … one lady has a pain in her leg so I told her about how good you said the pain pen is
Thanks for all the good wishes for my daughter and grandson folks .
I love Whitby Myrtle . It just has a nice feel to it somehow . You will have to get a few Whitby " lucky ducks " !
[/B]
 ??? What are they ???
Afternoon Folks…I knew I felt My ears burning in Tesco this morning Myrtle, lol,
I grew up with Polish/Lithuanian People in My wee Town who had escaped the Nazis during the war,and as it was mainly a Catholic area, they all settled in nicely and Their Children /Grandchildren went to the same School as Me…One of My Neighbours next door is of Polish descent, and His Wife like Me is from the Irish,so when They bake Their soda and Rye bread,I get shouted over the fence to get My share…luvly jubbly.;-)…so I’ve grown up in a Multicultural Society with Scots/Irish/Polish/Lithuanians all living happily side by side…nae bother
You get lucky ducks in the Lucky Duck shop in Whitby . They are small galss ducks , the colour you get depends on your birth month . They are said to be lucky
Same up here in Aberdeenshire May. We had a lot of Polish people settle here after the war, particularly in agriculture.
Thanks for that Abbey … I’ll definitely check that out :-).
I’m taking my 9 year old GD with me and she’ll love one of those … and I’ll buy one for my daughter too as it’s her birthday whilst we’re away so it will be a nice gift for her
There are a lot of Polish people living and working the Glasgow area and as May said they have their own shops and deli’s. May I love soda and german rye bread delicious. Abbey never seen any duck shops but did see shops selling jewellery set with jet. Also had delicious fish and chips there.
