Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Oooh sore! What a shame. Ice and elevate ++

Morning All…I see our FM has got her fighting colours on this morning!
Hope you are all well…its chilly and grey outside. Settled with a coffee and watching her squirm. Wonder if she will do the covid briefing today…

I can’t bear to watch it. Makes me want to shout!
Zoom quiz with Grans later. Should be a laugh. Noticeably colder today. Might need thermals again.

Good morning ladies. Roxy that looks really painful ouch. Not so nice here this morning no sunshine. Pixie I never watch the news till teatime its just to depressing. Jane enjoy your zoom chat today. Some shopping and then I’m going to make vegetable soup and put some in the freezer.

Roxy, your foot looks really sore, I think you should get it seen to at least by a nurse, I know at these times it’s difficult to see a gp…,

It’s just bruises they will be ok in a few days, then they will start down the yellow path. Not sitting too much now as I don’t want to stiffen up.
Very cold here today with a bit of drizzle. Went to Thurso Park with the dog, I sat and threw the ball with the lunger while he raced about after it. Good job I had a bottle of water, he was whacked afterwards.
Called in at Tesco for a few things before heading home. Getting through the housework with rests between jobs.

I think you’re right to keep moving Roxy. Just as well it’s not summer and you’re in shorts and flip-flops. Those bruises will be greeny yellow for ages. I hope you put the frozen peas on your ankle and your feet up when you can.
Just back from routine breast screening visit. Thank God that’s over. I was dreading it. It’s great that it’s available but the process is horrible. Grin and bear it time.

Good Afternoon Each,a dull drab chilly one here, the heating’s been on since 7am this morning and I haven’t ventured further than the bin outside,

I watched the FM on & off being grilled earlier and I didn’t see any squirming at all,I think She made a good account of Herself…I wonder how some other Political Leaders ( no mentioning Names) would have coped as well for 6 hours facing the enemy, and by God there were quite a few of Them!..Dear old Winnie Ewing, who first got Me interested in Scottish Politics 50 yrs ago, would have been proud of Her,I remember cheering
like mad at a famous speech She made when She said ā€œSTOP THE WORLD,
SCOTLAND WANTS TO GET ONā€.

Roxy Hen,whit are You like :-p, here’s a big hug frae Yer Auntie May (((((((((((hug))))))))))))

Yes, May…FM has kept her cool during this whole day. I resent the fact that none of the Englsih counterparts have to undergo such scrutiny. She is strong, and she takes responsibility for herself, but…there are some things that made me shout at the laptop

:-p Don’t take it out on Your poor laptop…punch Yer cushions instead

Haha! Yes, maybe I should…but then the dog would think I was playing and want involved in a tussle. Bye bye cushions… :frowning:

Big day today - going shopping! It’s my major social event of the week. It also offers the opportunity to pop some treats in my trolley. I bought a chocolate fudge cake last week and felt such conflicting emotions : 70% guilt but a wonderful 30% joy! I looked forward to a large slice every day on my return from my daily boring walk. Should I buy another or should I be sensible and focus on healthy eating? I know. Health comes first. Och.

Jane, buy another one - just have smaller slices? Life is difficult enough right now without denying yourself a wee treat. You are walking it all off anyway, so just get one…two…three…(kidding! :D)

Morning, Dull n cloudy here today with a biting wind. I always take it bad when the weather does a u turn. Last week sitting in the sun and now back to freezing, sheeezze.
Been out with the dog and I’m wrapped around a big mug of hot chocolate at the moment, hoping I don’t have to go out again today.

I know what you mean Roxy. Yesterday I felt awful. Shivery and miserable. Had a brainwave, put on a big cosy fleece and felt much better. That warm sunny day has confused me!

Well Like her or Loathe her, yesterdays inquiry did her a power of good.

Aye Roxy, I saw that on Twitter. Every second person was joining and tagging her. All the others were bashing her down, wanting her to quit. I don’t care either way - I just want her to get on with getting rid of Covid so I can go to the beach!

I’ve not stopped going to the beach lol. I want to get down to Perth to my own house for a while. Catch up with friends and family.

I saw a very different side to the reaction. General disgust at the apparent forgetfulness of the FM who just couldn’t give straight answers. That newspaper is an SNP paper. The twitterati were laughing at it. SNP membership has been falling all year.

She did waffle a bit, yes…and her body language was obvious. Folded arms and hunched a bit when she was struggling, and open gestures when she was confident. I felt for her at times when she appeared to be emotional (under pressure?), but it could all be just an act. And she faced some harshness at FM questions today, by all accounts. I didn’t see that. I think I have had enough of her this week - but she is a tough nut, I’ll give her that.
