Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Just read about a potential superstorm heading North East towards Britain, and Scotland might be in for a battering. So get yourselves prepared with plenty of goodies to see you through it.

If it happens i will be out at the coast birdwatching.

Good morning everybody, it looks like I missed something while I was away.I went to Torquay for the weekend with a friend. Hotel wasnā€™t very nice the food ok and Iā€™m still a bit tired after the journey there and back.

Good morning

Welcome back Jess ā€¦ I love Torquay ā€¦ I was there in April for a weekend ā€¦ a longer journey for you than me though :frowning:

May ā€¦ please donā€™t go into hibernation ā€¦ weā€™ll miss you !!!

The weather certainly has changed ā€¦ Iā€™ve got four weekends away booked in October ā€¦ the first one is on Friday for two nights in the Yorkshire Dales ā€¦ better get my thermals out

Shame about your walk Mike but a good book sounds a good idea

Enjoy your day everyone

ā€˜If it wisnae fur yer wellys where wid ye be
Youā€™d be in the hospital or infirmary
Cause youā€™d have a dose ae the flu or even plurisee
If ye didnae have your feet in your wellysā€™.

LOLā€¦I think Weā€™ll have to take the ā€˜Big Yinsā€™ advice over the next couple of Days Nom,ā€¦Sunā€™s out at the moment though,

Welcome back Jessie,Iā€™ve been by coach to Torquay many years agoā€¦jeezeā€¦it took Me days to recover, but a lovely place in the Summer,

Still hanginā€™ in here Myrtle ā€¦for a wee while anywayā€¦See Ya All later,x

It looks a bit dangerous up there to me!

Oh hell,it sure gets around that duckā€¦set off from Hong Kong on to Dublinā€¦has it been shot down to make a great big Glasgow curry I wonder,:-p

Luckily there were no accidents on the motorway,ā€¦theyā€™re just a blinking menace though.

This could explain where it came from!

Myrtle I was in Torquay in April. May it is a long journey down I enjoyed Torquay and the weather was good as well.

Jess I think we may have discussed this before ā€¦ and I think we just missed each other by a week or so

Myrtle I think we did discuss this before.

Good Morning Each,'twas a wild one last night, but all calm this morning,

Good morning

Good morning everyone . A bit dull here this morning and not much hope for improvement .
Will be stuck in the house all afternoon as there is someone coming to hopefully fix a chip on the car windscreen . They are coming between 12 and 5

Good Morning Everyone. Grey clag and drizzle here. Not really encouraging to go out and do anything constructive. Ho-hum.:frowning:

M.

Morning you citizens of Alba, a question if i may. I got my concessionary pass earlier in the year, and was told i could travel all over the country, but not so it seems Scotland and Wales say no.

Now its a bit daft to expect an answer from all you lot as your all rich and will be chauffer driven everywhere, but can you ask your servants if your pass is valid in England.

Take care all

Nope,Our bus pass is valid in Scotland only Nomā€¦but, shhhā€¦I did hear one of My servants admit to using it to sneak over the border into Berwick Upon Tweed recently, luckily the gestapo didnā€™t catch 'Em :-p

I shall look into this immediately them Mosstroopers should be more vigilant.

Anyhoo that me scuppered, i was going to invade but not much point if i can only get as far as Berwick, its a long walk to Eyemouth, had a cracking holiday there back in the 60`s.

Sleeping on the Golf course, and living on Scotch pies, and beer. We planned to hitch our way around Scotland but got no further than Eyemouth.

Beach football with the locals every day, sneaking into the caravan park for a shower, lots of bonny lasses, dances every night, and the Whale pub.

Who needs the Costa del sol. :)

Itā€™s a bit of a grey area Nom where the borders are concerned,I think Our pass will take Us as far as Berwick UT or Carlisleā€¦so maybe Yours will take You as far as Eyemouthā€¦worth finding out.

A bit of useless (or hopefully useful,) information here :-p

I can get to Chester using my English bus pass but itā€™s not valid over the border into Wales ā€¦ BUT (and Iā€™ve checked this with the bus company) ā€¦ if I get on a bus in Chester to travel into Wales (the only bus from there goes as far as Rhyl) as long as I donā€™t break my journey to my destination I can travel free using my bus pass. The same applies on the return journey ā€¦ just have to tell the driver Iā€™m going to Chester.

I wonder if the same applies to the Northumberland/Scottish border ā€¦ of course if it does it would only be if the starting point is in England.

Itā€™s certainly worth a phone call to find out
