Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Its an interesting piece folks, no one knows for sure its date, thought to be 12th century.

Certainly on the English side of the border but there must be a strong Scottish connection.

Hi

Shows how much I know, they look Egyptian to me.

Good Morning Each, donā€™t know what the weatherā€™s doing as Itā€™s still dark outside, but canā€™t hear any wind or rain as yet,

Had a call from an old flame during the week wanting to meet for a ā€˜catch-upā€™ which We did last nightā€¦He was just divorced from His first Wife when I knew Him,but apparently has been married and divorced twice more sinceā€¦Iā€™d forgotten just how egotistical and boring He was then and He hasnā€™t changed a bit.:lol:ā€¦I was Home and in bed with My book by 10pmā€¦Think He had Me in mind for Wife number 4  :lol:ā€¦See Ya All later,x

Not sure about the Scottish connection in Your picā€™ Nom.but Iā€™m sure Men didnā€™t wear kilts then as theyā€™re worn nowā€¦It does look a wee bit Egyption with the short skirts :-p

Good morning May and all to follow, dark and damp but supposed to brighten up here over the border.

BTW did the Edinburgh trams ever get off the ground. ?

Good morning folks. Surely they would be planes then Nom?

Good morning

 May I take it you wonā€™t be seeing Mr Boring again

Iā€™m out with a friend today ā€¦ she wants to go to watch a ballroom dancing competition so I agreed to go with her ā€¦ my turn to be bored Iā€™m afraid ā€¦ Iā€™d rather be dancing than watching

Have a good day everyone

Good Morning All. It sounds like you had a fun night (NOT) May ! The number of ā€œexā€™sā€ says it all really. Hopefully, you got a free meal at least.

Nomā€¦ Re: the Edinburgh trams. In short - yes they have been up and running for a while now. The whole scheme was/is a fiasco insomuch as it was massively over budget and took years longer to complete than estimated. At the end of the day only one route (Airport-York Place) was built. The whole fiasco still rumbles on about extensions and costs. All that said, itā€™s a fast (ish) frequent service. I always use it when visiting Edinburger. If you take your car into the city centre, you loose the will to live after a short time ! (imho)

M.

No,My dating days are over Myrtle, lolā€¦unless of course Gerard Butler comes chapping My doorā€¦now Iā€™d be more than happy to ā€˜Motherā€™ that Bonny Laddie any time :049: :-p

I havenā€™t been In Edinburgh for a couple of Years, but Methinks some heads are about to roll reā€™ the cost of the whole shebang.

Ta Nephroin, and May, i certainly miss the trams of old in Newcastle city center.

Iā€™ve just been told that my beautiful Grandaughter Kayleigh will be coming down from Wick in the Highlands for a few days in October. Canā€™t wait to see her. Of course it will mean a few blank expressions from me when trying to understand what she is saying, but she does at least remember to speak more slowly when talking to me.

Oh thatā€™s lovely for You EZ,and Iā€™m sure Your ears will soon become attuned to the soft Highland accent in no time at all,

Good Morning Each, quite a chilly one here so body warmer on when out walkingā€¦Off for some shopping to Morrisons then libraryā€¦Have a good one Folks,x

Good morning

More happy family times to look forward to EZ ā€¦ enjoy

Surprisingly I really enjoyed watching the dancing competition I went to yesterday ā€¦ beautiful dancing ā€¦ gorgeous dresses ā€¦ lovely music ā€¦

Have a good day everyone

Good Morning Folks. Cool & refreshing here too. Nothing gripping planned for today other than taking son back to the station. Had a great time catching up on things. Nomā€¦ I never saw the Newcastle trams (before my time), but I remember the Newcastle trolleybuses (bright yellow ?) As a schoolboy, the Liverpool trams were my 2nd home. In Glasgow, the trolleybuses they were called ā€œSilent Deathā€. They were virtually silent. Very efficient and ā€œeco-friendlyā€ long before the phrase was invented !!

I hope you enjoyed your walk May, cool as it may have been. Glad that you enjoyed the dancing Myrtle. Iā€™m afraid I have 2 left feet - and some !

Catch up soon.

Mike.

Good morning everyone . Weather looking quite promising for today . Might get out and do some gardening today .

Afternoon Each, got soaked to the skin when the Heavens openedā€¦no brolly or raincoat onā€¦got some lentil & carrot soup warming and the heatingā€™s on,aye Autumnā€™s here right enough,

The lentil and carrot soup sounds lovely May .

Good Morning Each, very wet and very windy hereā€¦aye itā€™s soup and hot-pot time again Abbey :-Dā€¦Chicken curry for dinner tonight Methinksā€¦and itā€™s almost time again for My laptop and Me to go into hibernation for a wee while to contemplate on Life  xx

Hi Everyone. A dreary looking dismal day by the look of it. Continuous drizzle since I got up. I was planning a walk in the Drumlanrig/Thornhill area. It could be a day in behind a good book instead ! :frowning:

Whatā€™s everyone else got planned. I hope the weather is kinder to you.
