Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Good Afternoon Folks,a wet windy one here so didn’t bother with My walk this morning.

I found a wee leak coming from a pipe joint under the kitchen sink when I was tidying up there this mornin’,so I’ve tried to seal it with medical tape and lagged with strips of towel until one of the Boys can get here to put sealant on it,I thought I had some but I can’t find it…jeeze! wharra palaver,I got down to it with a struggle but couldn’t get up again as I can’t kneel on My arthritic knees,so had to bum My way down the kitchen 'til I reached a chair to pull Myself up  …I’m aching all over now so feet up for a wee while,

I see the trolls, rentagobs,& Namecallers are having a high auld time in the politics threads…some things don’t change on here, they just get worse :surprised:

Take care all and I hope Your pain improves as time goes on Roxy,xx

our health centre is kept locked, can’t see a DR…if you want a repeat prescription, you have to phone the health centre, but can’t even get speaking to a receptionist, you get a message to press 1 for prescriptions, press 2 for an appointment…leave name , D O B then the pharmacy you want to collect it from…May, I’m the same …can’t get back up when I kneel . oh the things we used to take for granted ,and can’t do now

Good morning ladies. May sorry to hear you have a leak under the sink. I’ve had a few plumbing problems in here over the years. Roxy hope the pain starts to ease off a bit. Paula the girl who does my nails, gets her mums repeat prescription from Superdrug. They have a telephone app, where they will get in touch with the surgery and get your prescription for you. Walk and some food shopping later for me.

Morning :039: Bitterly cold wind here this morning, so much so that I cut the dogs walk short and headed back to the house. He’ll get out again in the afternoon after I’ve raked out my winter Parka Jacket.
Just housework for me today…

Roxy I’ve been wearing mine since last week, its about nine years old. Done some housework and want to get out to the shops for veg, to make a pot of soup.

Afternoon All,a wet n windy one here again, but had to wait in for some parcels to be delivered anyway.

Purchased a Revitive Medic which was delivered this morning, had a go for 30 min’s and it’s quite a sensation…will let You know in a few weeks if My circulation & OA pain has improved…I live in hope

Don’t know how My Health Centre is operating as I haven’t been there for over a year and that was just to get the stitches removed from My face,

Have been wearing My furlined jacket with hood a few times recently, and I hear tell it’s going to be the coldest Winter We’ve had for around 8 years…something else to look forward to

You’re so right Paula, there are so many things I used to do that I can’t do now, like dancing & hill walking, but I’m thankfull for My good health in other ways,

Good Morning Each,a miserable wet one here but I’m indoors anyway waiting for the Guy to arrive for the annual gas inspection…I’ll end up disinfecting everything He’s touched after He leaves

Hope all are well but just a wee reminder not to feed the Scots hating jealous wee trolls on the politics thread…You’d think they’d be bored by now with the same auld crap…
:043::043::043:

Good afternoon wet and miserable here. Just back from the hairdressers and a bit of shopping. Going to make a pot of soup later and put some in the freezer.

Afternoon All :039: Lousy weather here today but I went to the pool in desperation that exercise will help ease this pain away. It did ease a bit after ten lengths but now it’s back full force, had a lousy night with it. :022:

If Your GP won’t make an app’ for You,then it might be best if You get Your Man to take You to A&E Rox where They’ll prob’ send You for an x ray…Your back pain can’t be treated until You know what’s causing it…sounds Like a disc problem

Some good news,

Scotland could have “vaccinated its way back to normal” by next Spring, Nicola Sturgeon said today as she hailed progress on a Covid jab, and also said that the mass vaccination programme could possibly start before Christmas, sooner than expected.

It comes after a lucky dosing error in the Oxford vaccine trials found people initially given a half-strength coronavirus jab were better protected.

The lucky error means the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine has hit a 90 per cent protection rate, and the lower dose will also result in fewer health effects like headaches.

On Monday scientists revealed that the Oxford vaccine had an overall efficacy of 70 per cent, but this jumped to 90 per cent when administered as a half dose followed by a full dose one month later.

Christmas can pass Me by this Year and I’ll be happy to celebrate it in May/June next year when Everyone has been vaccinated, and We can hug & kiss Our loved ones without fear again :mini: :mini: :mini:

Roxy they did say you can visit A&E if you cant see your GP. May that’s good news about the vaccine, I wonder when we’ll get it. I’m going to my nieces for Christmas as usual.

That sounds good May, fingers crossed. I’m going to phone the doctor again first thing tomorrow and get a phone appointment, Himself is going to speak to her as well and hopefully she will put me for a scan, if not I guess we may just do as you say and land up on the doorstep of A&E.

Good Morning Lassies,it’s brightening up nicely here so off for a walk to the co-op for fruit n veg,so will make a pot of lentil & ham soup for lunch then freeze the rest…just finished doing a large online grocery order to be delivered tomorrow…a tidy up of the cupboards/freezer,run around with the Dyson/pledge,then feet up for the rest of the day…Have a good one whatever You are all doing, and keep safe,xx

Good morning ladies. Dry here as well today. Made a pot of soup yesterday, I have some in the fridge for lunch the rest is in the freezer. I’ll be doing the same dyson out and clean my bathroom then put my feet up.

Morning :039: Just back from a slow walk with the dog, took the ball n thrower so he doesn’t think he’s being short changed. I think my swim yesterday has done a bit of good. :-DThe pain has lessened a bit, hope this is the case, am going to swim Mon, Wed, Fri just now and see how it goes. Have another phone appointment with the Doctor this afternoon, she what she says this time…

Still waiting for my doctor to phone, I spoke to the receptionist at just past 8am, thought she’d have phoned by now. :confused2: Hope she calls soon. :069:

Evenin’ All,turned out to be a bright sunny day but bitterly cauld,

Forgot to get crusty bread to dook in My soup, tut,it’s just not the same dookin’ wi’ a slice o’ wholemeal :-p

Ordered some goodies like icecream & choc’ biscuits with My order tomorrow…well…I’ve been good long enough

Hope Your doc’ phoned Rox?..I’ve never spoken to Mine on the phone, but I suppose I may have to some day.

Finally phoned, we had a good long chat. She wants me to see a Physio Therapist who will go right into this with me. If she/he thinks I need a scan then she/he will arrange it. Got some more Naproxen and I’ve to keep going swimming every 2nd day. AND not to overdo it. I hardly think 20 lengths out of my usual 50 is over doing it, but she did. Hhhuummpphhhh.
