Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Ah… A Mk.I Setright ticket machine by the look of it. I collect these things. See profile. (sad or what?). Memories of days long gone. The engineering that went into the manufacture of these machines was amazing. Most machines were converted to decimal money. The original £.s.d. ones are pretty rare now. Any chance of a close-up pic of the ticket you got Myrtle ?

Thanks, Mike.

I think I have a picture of my wife with one round her neck somewhere Mike but I would be dead meat if I tried to put it on here

Hi Mike … what a fantastic thing to collect … I’m so pleased I took this photograph … I had my 9 year old granddaughter with me and she is interested in anything and everything and she keeps all the train/bus tickets when we go on our “adventures”

I’ll be looking after her on Tuesday so I’ll take a pic then and post it on here

We only got on the train by the skin of our teeth so I had to pay onboard … she was disappointed as I only got a paper ticket so when we got off the train I went to the ticket office and explained that my granddaughter liked to have a “real” ticket so the man very kindly issued an under 5 free ticket for her to keep … more Brownie points for Nanna

:-D:-D:-D Best not venture down that road maybe?
Ding-ding. Hold tight !!

Please post it Scot … we promise we won’t tell your wife

Here’s the bus …

It is a wee bit frayed at the edges if I recall.

Mmmmm … just like me !!! :lol::shock:

Glorious sunshine here too . Going to take the dogs to the beach for a run on the sand ( them not me ! )
See you all later

Good morning Abbey … now I know where you are I can visualise what a great walk you will have

Morning…Oops, afternoon all. I’m looking forward to moving back near the sea again early next year. I miss my long walks on the beach, bike rides along the prom and swimming from a sandy beach. We moved here five years ago from near to Bournemouth it has been a huge regret. Luckily we both feel the same. Not looking forward to the trauma of moving house again though.

Hi EZ … I hope you find your perfect place

Loving the stories about clippies & bus tickets

To live by the sea was always a dream Of Mine, sadly never came to fruition…the nearest I got was when My late Husband bought and repaired a clapped-out Cabin Cruiser which We berthed at Balloch on Loch Lomond…Oh those happy weekends chugging up and down the Loch were some of the happiest times of My Life…Hope You find the perfect Home for You and Your Wife EZ.

Hi there Myrtle. I hope so too! I’m fast running out of time so I have to get it right!:smiley:
Oops! Just saw your message May. Thank you so much.

Hi Abbey,I do envy You as I miss My dog though We never had a beach to run or walk on,but She did love a walk around Strathclyde Loch (about 4 mls round) meeting lots of other doggies and Their Owners.

Nice to know You have a Name Mike…I cant misspell that One

A lot of chatting on here this afternoon which is good. Did a bit of tidying up in the back garden and then went out for some lunch. Turned a lot cooler this afternoon and I was glad to get home.

Hi Jessie,I too faffed about in the garden for a wee while, then G/Daughter and Her Boyfriend who were here from Dundee to see Her Dad,paid Me a visit, got Them started on the weeding then rain stopped play,so there was a photo’ session with the smartphone…what is it with young Folks and Their phones?..Think She worries I might pop My clogs before She comes back again :-p

Hi May , I’ve done the walk there at Stratclyde loch and it’s a lovely walk . Did meet one or two other dogs and their owners too which was nice .

I’m watching the Edinburgh Tattoo … fantastic
