Chicken Kiev, R. Potatoes, dark greens.
Smoked Haddock, boiled potatoes, fine beans and carrots.
Cod, Jacket Potato, Broccoli Chesse & Carrots.
Susie, Iām either going to have to start coming to your house for meals or have you come and cook for me, lol. You always have such nice sounding stuff.
Iām embarrassed to say I ate junk yesterday. I was busy around the house and got lazy for lunch and popped a single-serve frozen pizza into the oven. Then for dinner I made a sub sandwich, but didnāt eat it all.
hahaha. You can come if you like to my House, I might do you a sandwich!
We try to eat as healthy as we can because of my Diabetes I have to, I have never really been the one for junk food, now and again I used to buy a Pizza but not for a very long time, I used to get the Stone Baked Sweet Chilli one from Iceland. Apart from that its normally, Chicken, Pork or Fish.
A sandwich works. I love sandwiches
Meatwise, I eat mostly chicken and seafood. Pork, not so much, unless itās the occasional piece of bacon or liver sausage, but itās not a meat of choice for me. Give me chicken and seafood over anything else and Iām good. My favorite pork product is Weisswurst, which is actually a blend of pork and veal.
Weisswurst, is that German Sausage?
I love any sort of Fish as long as its not got any bones in it.
Today we are having:
Gammon, R. Potatoes, Cabbage, Swede and gravy.
Yes, itās a German sausage originating from Bavaria. Itās very good. It has a firm, yet very soft texture and is traditionally served poached with soft pretzels and sweet Bavarian mustard. This stuff just melts in your mouth.
(which reminds me, itās time to order more)
I grew up eating this kind of stuff and we luckily have a wonderful German restaurant in town called HofbrƤuhaus. Itās about as authentic as youāre going to find in America, complete with the long, wooden, family-style tables, a nice big bar with the huge beer tubes that run the ceiling and a group that comes in on weekend nights and plays live German music. The place gets pretty crazy on weekend nights, as you can imagine. We Germans love our food and liquor and itās not unusual at all to be eating dinner and people are suddenly climbing up onto the table to dance. Itās actually quite amusing. Until somebody falls off, lol.
(actually, thatās pretty amusing as well, as long as no one is seriously hurt, but theyāre too drunk to notice most of the time)
That sounds great entertainment to me, dancing on the tables, its like the Turkey and Greek Dancing.
Itās quite amusing and lots of fun. I love that old German folk music. It makes you want to get up and dance and twirl around the room, hahaha.
Even the older folks (men, mostly, in their 70ās and beyond) are up dancing like theyāre 25 again.
Donāt you get up on the tables and dance Linda, I would.
Ummmm, no, LOL
Smoked Haddock, spicy Bombay potatoes, cabbage & carrots.
You eat soooooooo much healthier than I do.
I look back on the days when I paid attention to every single little thing I put into my mouth. Now, whilst I still try and eat healthfully, Iāve gotten more careless and I donāt eat as well as I used to.
Well I eat better now then I used to, but being Diabetic for 30 years I have to watch everything I eat and drink, even with all this healthy eating I cannot lose weight, in fact I have gained and I cannot get my sugar levels down, even though I donāt eat anything which contains sugar, I just canāt win, but I still cheat now and again, you have to otherwise life would be so boring.
Now Linda, I have decided to be very naughty tomorrow and my sugar levels will go up, so need to adjust my Insulin, iām going to the Chip shop and having Cod and Chips for dinner.
Fish and chips. One of my favorite things. Mushy peas included.
And Gherkins.
Eh, I donāt like those so much. Itās not that I hate them or anything, but to me, stuff like that goes better with burgers and hot dogs than fish. Iād rather have the mushy peas or coleslaw.
I love Mushy Peas.
Well tomorrow it will be:
Marinated in my own Indian spices Pork Belly strips, Roast Potatoes, Brussels and Carrots.
