I love Special K, but I only like the original. I don’t like added nuts and fruits and pieces of chocolate in my cereal. Funny thing is I never eat cereal for breakfast, I only eat it for snacks. Mostly because I never eat breakfast

I’m still down my 2 pounds and holding steady. I was a little disappointed I didn’t lose anything else since last Friday, but I did opt for losing 1 pound per week and last week I lost 2, so…

On forward. I’m faced with the weekend, which is always a challenge for me. Friday night is pizza night, although I rarely get anything for myself, unless it’s a veggie sub. I rarely eat parlor pizza because it’s loaded with 7 pounds of cheese. I either make my own pizza at home or opt for a lower-cal frozen type.

I count calories every day of the week except Sunday. Sunday dinner is my one meal of the week where I eat as much as I want without worrying about it too much. I don’t overstuff myself, but if I want seconds, I get them.

What do you all normally eat on weekends? Do you splurge a little?

Well done Linda. ! I rarely eat cereal these days–the sugar content worries me–although I just bought a packet of oats—so ill see what I can do with those.

I usually eat the same at the weekend as i do in the week. i live alone, and do not see anyone even at weekends so it is easier to keep to what I normally eat–i never have a roast dinner.

I have been good today.

Breakfast: Bran Flakes with Soya Milk.
Lunch: Red Salmon Salad.
Supper: Might have a Bacon Roll.

Sounds good Susie----especially the bacon roll-cannot remember when I last had bacon…

Still not gained or loss any weight though, I don’t think I ever will.

I am sure you will eventuallly–you will probably lose a few pounds in one go.

Oh but roasts are so yummy!

Are you following a plan (either your own or something else) or simply reducing calories without keeping track? What is your weight loss agenda, if you don’t mind me asking?

It is just too much hassle for one person to do a roast–plus I do not like roast potatoes or basically any cooked vegetables. i even cooked a chicken on Sunday—but most of it is going to the dogs-I just did not like it–i am much more comfortable with salmon, houmouss, cottage cheese, quorn–something light. I never ever go to a carvery.

All of that makes sense, so I understand. If you’re only cooking for one and you’re not really into roasted vegetables anyway, then there’s not much point.

I love chicken, I could eat it every day. In fact I have a chicken breast baking right now that I’m going to cut up and drizzle with a little BBQ sauce and wrap it up into a tortilla with onions and romaine lettuce. That’s my dinner tonight

PS - the dogs are going to love you

oh yes—they love chicken etc etc

So do mine. I have 3 Dachshunds and they love getting special treats for their meals. I mean, dogs can’t live on just the same boring old dog food day after day, can they?

I’ll often buy chicken livers or gizzards from the grocery, as they usually sell them inexpensively in bulk, and cook it up for them. I also make ‘natural’ dog treats out of the livers. I take the livers and cut them into bite-size pieces, then put them on a baking sheet and stick them in the oven until they’re cooked through and a little dried out. Then once they cool, I drop them into ziplock baggies and stick them in the freezer so they keep longer and just pull each dog out a piece or two of liver for their snacks.

thats a good idea about the chicken livers-I guess you could do that with any kind of liver-i have 2 packets in the freezer that I bought-then went off the idea. Mine like chicken wings too. !!

Today has been:-

Breakfast: 2 slices of Toast.
Dinner: Boiled egg salad.
Supper: Ham Salad sandwich.

Hopefully without the bones

Boiled egg sandwich sounds interesting. How do you make yours? Usually I just slice a boiled egg and put it on bread with mayo or sometimes on a muffin or crumpet.

Hi Linda, I didn’t have boiled egg sandwich, I had Boiled egg salad?

But if I were to have a sandwich, I would usually boil the eggs, then mash them up with a bit of salad cream and a few bits of watercress or chopped chives in it.

Today:

Breakfast: Bran Flakes, soya milk.
Dinner: Chicken marinated in Ginger & Chilli, 2 R.Pots. cabbage & swede.
Supper: Sandwich

Thats how i have bolied egg sandwich too-like an egg mayonnaise–or I salice it, and have sliced tomato too.

Had a really busy day yesterday
#crispbreads cottagecheese pinapple
tuna salad sandwich out-
crispbreads cottage cheese—as i was low on time

Oh! I completely read that wrong, haha. Yes, I love egg salad as well, good stuff. But I still do the sliced boiled egg on toast now and again.

I dropped 2 pounds a couple weeks ago and that’s where it decided to stay. My weight hasn’t budged in 2 weeks. Trying to lose weight when you’re older is a pain in the butt!

I only lost half a pound this week–really disappointing as i thought I had done everything right–and done loads more walking–but my leader says that I should be eating more !! But I am worried about eating too much, in case I put on any weight. Its so strange as al my clothes are so much looser, and my measurements are reducing—but not the weight !

I guess it must be an age thing–I lost over 3 stone with Weightwatchers–but that was a long long time ago.

I’ve not lost anything this week or any other week, I don’t care though.

I lost almost 6 stone (I started out at almost 16 stone) but, like Mariana, that was nearly 10 years ago. Things are waaaaaaaay different now, especially with me going through menopausal stuff. My doctor, who is the same age I am (I’m 52), said “Losing weight at our age is like rollerskating uphill.”

She’s not kidding.
