90 degrees, where do you lie Linda? Its only 26 degrees here in Essex.

Today we had:

Pork Belly Strips, Roast Potatoes, Cabbage & Swede.

Tonight I am going to have: Scrambled Eggs on Toast.

I’m in the U.S. Midwest, in Ohio.

Mmmmmmm, scrambled eggs on toast. That sounds so good right now.

Yes fresh eggs bought yesterday from Neighbours Hens, freshly laid.

Wow, now that’s fresh! I just bought a dozen from our local farm market. They get their eggs from a chicken farmer not far from here. Having one tonight on a BLT

Because THIS is a beautiful thing

Ive gone off chicken really—I never seem able to cook it properly now–although I have an oven in my microwave-its still not like the oven in my cooker—which is still not working.

But had lovely meal tonight—salmon–done in microwave oven—grated carrot and apple—plus chopped pepper and celery—plus a sauce for my salmon made with fromage frais and a little teri yaki sauce–so tasty !!

Okay, I’m going to ask a strange, but sincere question
why would anyone cook chicken (or fish) in a microwave???

Not the same in a microwave.

Mariana, you can always cook your chicken breasts or fish in the frying pan, you only need to spray a tiny bit of oil in the pan.

That Linda looks really tasty.

The Eggs you buy in the supermarkets are not that fresh, yours probably is Linda, but i’m talking in general, and when you cook them the York is not deep yellow like it should be.

Today we are having homemade Vegetable Curry and some Pasta shells.

I’d much rather do that than use a microwave to cook chicken & fish, although I have come across a few microwave recipes for both. I don’t have the courage to try them.

It was fabulous. I may have another one tonight

Very true. Basic supermarket eggs are rather boring and tasteless. But our supermarkets also carry organic eggs and eggs from cage-free hens that are free to roam and eat grass and other natural things, besides being given a diet of nothing but seed filled with antibiotics while being crammed into cages. The eggs I always buy are Happy Egg Co.

They’re much more expensive than basic eggs, but they’re worth it. Large, brown eggs, very tasty and have a deep, rich orange yolk; not pale yellow. And this article says they originated in the UK. Do you have these there?

Sounds good. Well, except the curry part

I’m having fish and scallops for lunch. I need a veg, though.

Because I do not have a working oven–just the oven in my microwave–a proper convection oven
works well mostly-but chicken never seems roght—however i got some chicken fillets out the freezer and will try them again tonight–maybe with teriyaki sauce
I am not sure aboit frying my chicken or fish—I have 2 ceramic hobs—but i am not used to working with electric hobs, so its still trial and error–bought the hobs when I was told my cooker was not working right–so ive got no grill either—

Electric isn’t so bad. It took me a while to get used to electric stovetops years ago when I was used to cooking with gas, but I figured the only way for me to get used to them is to jump in and start cooking.

Have you ever considered a stovetop grill? It’s a flat griddle that you lay over the hobs and just use the hobs to heat the griddle. You can also buy an electric skillet. They’re great, not only for frying, but for roasting as well. Like one of these

They’re not that expensive and they do so much. With these you have temperature control. I love mine.

I have not seen these before Linda—i will check them out—maybe Amazon

I could not see one that was like your picture Linda—looked in Amazon—but I do have a grilling machine–just a flat one–I used it to make toasties for my ex BF—so I guess I could use that

Is this the sort of thing-in Amazon at a really good price–inc free pp

well , whatever–it was such a good price–good reviews—I just went and ordered it

Yes, I have one of those as well. They’re wonderful for grilling chicken and fish and making awesome panini sandwiches.

Good choice!

that is what i am hoping for–grilling my meat—fish–maybe home made burgers
I do not have paninis or toasties now----but maybe in the winter–on the odd ocasion i could be tempted

I love panini sandwiches. Ham & cheese toasties are good, too. Toss some onion and tomato or sweet bell pepper on there to add some goodness.

But yes, those machines are great for grilling chicken, burgers and fish.

I know—I always made a lovely cheese and pickle toastie for me ex BF—not panini—ordinary toasting bread–but they were really good—I think my machine will arrive at the beginning of next week, cant wait to try it

They’re fun little appliances to have. Besides sandwiches and grilling meats, you can also grill vegetables and fruit and make shrimp skewers, eggs, bacon and a bunch of other things.

Here’s a cool page with other ideas

And I’m not sure if the one you ordered does this, but mine opens completely up and lays down so both plates of the press can be used for standard grilling, like this
