swede is different to tunip–isnt swede an orange colour when cooked–basically i hate them both !!

I like white turnips in roasts, as long as they’re baked nice and soft. But really, I could take them or leave them.

My lunch today is homemade vegetarian split pea soup. I didn’t add any ham or bacon to it. It’s just made with carrots, leeks and onions.

Also had sliced cucumber and tomatoes and I’m going to have a banana for a snack when I get hungry so I’m not starving by the time I get home.

I had cereal and fruit this morning–lunch time egg sandwich on brown as I was out shopping
going out shortly, but I have got a treat when I get home
some sliced raw marinated salmon with half an avacado , plus “wonderfood” salad from a packet with grapes and satsuma segments, amd maybe half a roasted pepper.
got the idea of the salmon from The Hairy Bikers fast diet meal book–its called salmon ceviche or similar-I always like my salmon very lightly done, it is npow marinating in lemon and soy sauce.

Sorry, I can’t seem to get the link on here for some reason.

This will explain the difference between swedes and turnips, Linda…

oh heavens and what about parsnips—i cannot bear any root vegetables–including potatoes of course–even with carrots, i can only eat them raw—love them grated–but could not see myself eating grated turnip or swede… lol

Thanks

I love love love love love potatoes. Especially red potatoes, but I’ll eat any potato in any form. I love sweet potatoes and yams as well. Carrots for me have to be cooked.

i know i am very much in the minority on this one—I always cooked them for my husband of couse, but seeing masjed poatoes or bolied patoaes actally make me feel sick–if they are on my plate, i cannot eat anything !!

Blimey Marian.
I have never heard of that before with spuds.
Mind you.
Porridge does that to me as well.
Yuck! :107:

Morning, well I’ve just had my porridge for breakfast.

I also hate potatoes, especially mash.

Today its Salmon Salad.

OMG! You guys are probably the only people on the planet that hates potatoes, LOL

Okay, wait… will you eat chips or crisps? Those are potatoes!

my answer is definately not chips–occasionally crisps in the past.
You are right-there are not many of us around !!

You’re a rare breed indeed

I must admit I will eat Chips occasionally.

I’m a mash potato fanatic. I love potatoes made just about any way, but mashed is my favorite. In fact I’m fixing mashed potatoes with Sunday supper this week. Baked pork chops in pork gravy, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing and fresh green beans & onions.

Your meal sounds really delicious—hope you enjoy it. But just not my kind of meal !

I’d leave the potatoes off for you

Ah, that better—but I dont eat pork–especially pork chops.

That’s funny we had Pork Chop today as well.

I had: Pork Chop, Broccoli, Carrots and my Husband had Potatoes with his.

Tonight had a bit of French stick with cheese.

Well dang, woman! Guess I’ll have to cook you a completely different meal

Pork chops and pork roasts are an occasional thing. We’re not super crazy about pork, therefore we don’t eat much of it, unless it’s ham. I’m crazy about ham and so is my son’s dad. My son, however, hates it. Strange people, lol.

We eat more chicken than we do anything else. The guys like their burgers and I like the occasional rare steak, but we don’t eat much red meat, either, unless it’s prepared in a casserole or stew. I’ll put ground meat in spaghetti sauce and some of our favorite casserole dishes, but chicken gets eaten more around our house than any other meat. Plus I eat quite a bit of seafood - fish, prawns, scallops, clams, mussels, that sort of thing. I also like buying squid to make calamari.
