Our Official Slimming Club Thread - open to everyone

A treadmill sounds great–imagine walking your way through Coronation street–although I can do that with some of the walking exercises on wii fit.

a little change of direction today

started with cottage cheese, and loads of fruit, mostly melon–they are now under £1.00 in Sainburys instead of £2.00 and the one I got last week was lovely.

Out shopping so had to buy lunch in cafe nero–they did not have much left-and this was only 11.30–but i saw a chicken saad sandwich, no mayo, on brown bread–300 calories, so that sounded ok to me–and it tasted really nice, as I do not often eat meat !!

not sure about tonight–maybe salmon rice and roasted peppers, if I can work out how to roast the peppers-wonder if I can do them on the sandwich toaster–its been a bit redundant since my BF and I split up.

Excellent

Over the years, I tried lots of different food logging programs, but I like fitday the best. I even bought the premium version, but I hated it. Even after spending money on the premium version, I went back to the free version. So I wouldn’t recommend wasting money on it. Some people like it, but I didn’t. It wasn’t as user-friendly and was more complicated. But what I like about fitday, as opposed to other logging programs, is you can customize your own foods (I have a big list of my own foods that I’ve entered) and you can plan ahead. Some logging systems I used wouldn’t allow you to log stuff for the next day or beyond, which was very frustrating to me. I like being able to plan some meals in advance. I can log tomorrow’s food today and I couldn’t do that with some of the other ones I used.

Fitday also gives you a breakdown of nutrients you’re getting from the foods you eat, plus has graphs to show percentages of the types of foods you’re getting, as well as a weight progress graph. And if you put in your stats and a weight goal, it will tell you how many calories you need to eat per day to either gain, maintain or lose.

thanks Linda–yes I managed to get that far–entered my stats and have a number of calories I can eat in a day. Still not figured the rest out–just not had time yet.

You’ll get used to it

Yes, im sure I will–i usually manage most things on my phone and tablet–I have to !!!

I had wonderful lunch today of baked salmon with crabmeat stuffing and steamed green beans. Delicious!

that really does sound delicious–I love salmon–and crabmeeat is a rare luxury–grreen beans one ot the few veg I can eat cooked–

I love veggies. I eat lots of them. And lately, since it’s summer and I get these delicious tomatoes from our local farm market, I’ve been eating my weight in those things, lol. Even though technically tomatoes are fruit, but I still consider them vegetables, don’t care what anyone says:lol:

Boring Egg Salad today.

But as from tomorrow I will be having Full English Breakfast for one week, as on holiday.

I’m making my homemade chicken pot pie for Sunday supper this week. It’s total comfort food and I need it right now.

Along with about a 5th of whiskey.

I was out today -visiting a friend so took my own lunch.
sarted the day with cereal, melon lf youghurt–mellons have really come down in price and I love melon–all kinds–not watermelon.

Packed lunch-wholemeal bread with a little light Philadelphia, wafer thin ham–plus roasted red pepper–just delicious-followed by Muller light yoghurt.
this evening–scrambled egg, mixed with chopped crabsticks, and more roasted peppers and tomatoes–again really lovely.

If they are a good price–buy lots of them and make into home made tomato soup–I do it all the time–a kilo of toatoes makes about 10 portions of soup…

Just chop tomatoes roughly, put in a pan of a little water, with a knorr stock cube-I use chicken, but I guess you could use a vegetable one. add some large pieces of carrot and celery , also a large spoonful of sugar substitute----and cook on a low heat till the tomatoes are all mushed up–I then remove the carrot and celery—but you may want to leave them.
Liquidise —then I add one small can of Sainburys cream of tomato soup—it just adds that extra bit of smoothness-and taste–but you could leave that out—but once its all divided into 10 portions–or 8 if you are hungry, the calorie count of the soup is negligable, Add a little more water if it still looks too think. then just freeze in portions. its so nice.
All it needs on defrosting , is chuck some chopped veg in, a little cooked pasta–micowave it–a spponful of fromage frais, or lowfat youghurt—a really tasty quick, and easy lunch !!

Wow—have a great time–and enjoy yourself !!!

Wow, that sounds fantastic. I’m copying these ideas, especially the sandwich. I love roasted red peppers.

Thank you, sounds delish! I love tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.

One of my favorite things is making homemade soups.

I am not much onto soups–but I really love this one !

I love soups

Well, another pound down, total 13. But that’s probably because I didn’t eat much last week, which is why I dropped another pound so quickly after losing the previous 2. Too much going on, too much on my mind and it kind of kills my appetite some.

i was told when i pout on 1 and a half pounds the other week that I was not eating enough ! it does not make sense–

Im the same–too much on my mind–hopefully when I start seeing the counsellor ahe will help get rid of all that pain in me.

BtW–well done for another pound–almost a stone
youve got to be pleased with that–and be able to see the difference–and feel it.
