My new Zwilling Pro Frying Pan (20cm)

Following on from the Do you have a favourite cookware brand? thread, I just bought a 20cm Zwilling Pro frying pan (it was on offer):

https://www.johnlewis.com/zwilling-pro-stainless-steel-frying-pan/p5183577?size=20cm

My other pans were just a tad too big for a 2 egg omelette or not stainless steel. Anyway, just tried it and my omelette just slid out of the pan perfectly!

They come with a lifetime warranty so highly recommend :023:

Looks very smart.

Next seasons Masterchef is now open to applicants Azz.

Stainless Steel won’t work on my Induction Hob Azz and now I seem to have a surplus of pans that are only useful for mixing paint…
However, I bought some ferrous ones and the Induction Hob is the way to go and so easy to clean after a fry up…

All systems ready for Sunday Lunch…

What is classified as a lifetime? actually means nothing if you think about it. A life could only be a couple of days or 90 years. Now if they stated the item was Guaranteed from the date of purchase say of 15 years would be better. Proof of date of purchase would be sufficient to demand a replacement. Even then it would have to have an individual ID stamp on it

Too many people get caught out by an unsubstantiated statement, so don’t get fooled by it

That looks like a lovely pan.
I recently bought a cast iron one, it does stick a bit, and almost breaks your wrist lifting it.:joy:

I thought it was non-magnetic materials that do not work wih induction hobs. And the process of adding chromium to steel to make it stainless does not affect the steel’s magnetic properties. Although some mixes of alloy in stainless steel can reduce its magnetism…

Cast iron is terrific for ramping up and holding the temperature, sears steak beautifully! :yum:

Stainless steel should work on an induction hob Bob - the Zwilling pan says it does :023:

From their website:

Ah nice one Helen! Cast iron is great, but like you said quite heavy  Carbon Steel are a little lighter and with many of the same benefits (they actually contain more iron than cast iron)

Same - thought Stainless Steel were generally ‘the best’ for induction hobs.

Cast iron/carbon steel definitely the best for steaks Chilli! :048:

I keep seeing ads for a titanium pan that claims the same thing about eggs sliding out

Give it a try and let us know what it’s like Annie

While titanium may be safer (no chromium or nickel) I think the challenge might be finding pans that are actually titanium - if you buy from a reputable company/brand, it could be a decent option, if not, it could be a risk…

I got the cast iron after learning how hazardous Teflon coated pans are.
I binned the Teflon ones but they were easier to cook with.

Azz I didn’t buy it just keep seeing ads for it. I’m not into frying very often but I have several ceramic coated frying pans that I use for eggs or cooking the dog’s special pancreatic diet food. The ceramic coated ones seem ok.

Remember, if your eggs stick you can always eat from the pan.
