Surely Muskito isn’t using his child as a “human shield”??
The same doctors work in the private sector. The private sector does not have capacity to take the load off the NHS. The constraining factor is a shortage of medical professionals across the board.
A friend has the highest tier of health insurance through her job at a multinational giant. She developed cancer and went through the private route. I couldn’t believe how long she had to wait between appointments and for test results. It took months for her to be correctly diagnosed and to commence treatment. The consultant she was seeing also worked at an NHS trust, so she had to catch him when he did his private work. The private labs are used by both the private healthcare sector and the NHS. The bulk of their work is NHS. Many hospitals no longer use their own in-house labs. It’s just not efficient to have duplicate facilities when they can pay a private lab to do it all for them.
I am not really sure what the deal is with trying to foist NHS patients onto the private sector when the private sector is already used by the NHS when they need it. It’s not the cure-all that it’s being presented as.
In terms of money Labour have said they will be putting £26 billion into the NHS. Watching a select committee about the budget I noticed Rachel Reeves confirm in answer to a question that part of this 26bn is expected to be used to fund the national insurance rise that her budget has introduced. So I will be interested to see how much will find its way to actual services. They were planning a lot of capital investment. I’m not sure how much of the 26bn is capital and whether it’s recurrent funding or just a one off or spread over the five years. Time will tell.
As for Reform’s 17bn again there is no detail on how that is applied and where it ends up. Governments have a habit of being a bit murky with financial details. Sometimes this money is sitting somewhere else and it’s not really new money. Sometimes it means other services have to close or make savings. This all gets forgotten as it doesn’t tend to make the headlines.
You must live in a lovely black and white simple world. Everything is on a scale, hardly anything of any complexity is yes/no or on/off or good/bad. You will have told little lies, white lies and partial truths many times. We all have, often for good reason. If you claim to have never used a little lie … then guess what?
And this is not about lying. This is about leveraging influence. On one end of the scale: little bit of volunteer help in local offices. On the other end: buying direct influence and massively funding a small party to change the politics directly on a national basis. So please drop the child-like simplicity of “ooh any lie is a big, bad lie” and just acknowledge that Musk is aiming to directly shape British politics.
And Brits trying to help Harris to win the highest position in this country and one of the most powerful positions in the world is not ok in that American eyes.
How far do you go down the “cause and effect” route when deciding “who started it first”
U.K. Election 2015
** Young Republicans drafted in from US to boost Conservative election bid**
The Conservatives are to draft in a deployment of Republican activists to bolster their efforts in key seats before the UK election.
In an unusual move, a team organised by the US Young Republicans International Committee will arrive on 2 May to help out in the marginal seat of Enfield North, and the constituency of Aylesbury, where the Conservatives face a challenge from the UK Independence party (UKIP) as well as the safer seat of Windsor. The move will be controversial because they are set to campaign though they are not able to vote in the UK.
The Americans will arrive during a campaign in which the Conservatives lack ground troops in tight battleground seats compared with [Labour), meaning they are relying on mailshots of election literature and busloads of mostly young Tory activists at weekends known as Team 2015.
Your turn to find an earlier example!
LOL, it is very funny. I can find examples all the way back to the Independence of the USA where England messing with the US government.
Ahhh, what a cop out!
What is needed in this game of “who started it” is for you to find the most recent example, prior to 2015, of the US Democrat Party receiving help from U.K. volunteers in an election campaign.
Check mate
Probably Just a Sweetener.
Heard on the block.
Reform was organising “Boston Tea Party” Mk2.
Both countries have a long history of sharing advice on winning elections. This example of a few helpers on the ground is not as impactful as sharing successful tactics and strategies. Whereas Musk wishes to pump in almost 3 times the campaign spend (there is a spending limit on election campaigning of £30m per party). Your come-back of “ooh, look, you Brits had some (tiny, tiny, tiny) involvement in a US politics” is nowhere close in scale, impact or intent.

Signals. >> ? >> !!
Again, a lie is a lie no matter how you try to paint it. A few or a lot, it all comes down to one thing, interference. Take him to court.
I noticed a couple of things. Didn’t see anyone stopping Musks entrance, guess he was invited. The other is the “a lot of people in the EU worried” about the tariffs. Does that rule out the UK since they are not part of the EU?
They are saying that the tariffs could effect US prices.
Elon Musk denies reports he will donate £80m to Nigel Farage’s Reform | ITV News
Think this sums up what most sane people think of muskito:
You mean what most people who use Tik Tok think of Musk Azz…
Most people who use X (formerly twitter) think well of Musk…
Most sane people (which yeah, there seems to be more sane people on TikTok than X if you ask me, haha!)
Muskito is as big a turd as farage is imo - how do you feel about him now that he said he’s not giving farage 80m?
*runs
he probably deletes or hides the tweets of those who don’t OGF. After all he is the owner.
