Muddys Trip to Australia

I was just looking at the radar - SE Qld is copping it right now. I have had brief glimpses of sunshine and no rain at all since sunrise all the rain is out to sea but rain is forecast for a few more days. as your weather moves south.

Our nearest town is Canungra so we are in the green and blue area . It simply hasnā€™t stopped raining for two days and I mean deluge roads are being washed out . I hope it moves on tomorrow but itā€™s coming on heavier just now . I would put on a video if I knew how ā€¦

Sorry to hear about all the rain Muddy. You would think us Brits would be used to it by now, although everything in Australia is bigger than here, even the weather!
I hope you manage to get some sun before you have to leaveā€¦
:sunglasses: Itā€™s quite nice hereā€¦ :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I hope so too !
But if I donā€™t I donā€™t at least itā€™s not cold .

Itā€™s still raining .
Things are quite serious in Brisbane seven people have lost their lives in the floods .
We ventured out to the nearest town to get some supplies and passed several minor landslides one larger one had been cleared in the middle .
Got to town and the supermarket was all out of bread cake and most of the chocolate .( people are clearly comfort eating )
The baker next door had just managed to bake five loaves ( no fishes ) and I was lucky to get the last one .
So stocked up with the few goodies available and got back without any mishaps .
Did a bit more painting .

Sounds like they are having it very rough out there Muddy. I feel sorry for the people who have lost their lives to the flood, and I can only imagine the damage it has caused to peoples homes and businesses.
Love the painting, itā€™s brilliant.
:+1: :umbrella:

We nearly didnā€™t get up the drive coming back as the rain has washed all the stones away and left two great gullies which the water the just torrents down . still fingers crossed it may get better tomorrow .

Had quite an adventurous day here went to do a canopy walk but the real adventure was getting there . It not that far from my sons place as the cockatoo flies but a very long way by car as you have to go down a mountain and up one . The road was winding and difficult with several slips ( being repaired ; quite hair raising god knows how they went up there with oxen and horses as they used too.
The weather was lovely and later went to the beach itā€™s seems like years since I have seen the Pacific Ocean .

Great photos Muddy, beautiful scenery from that vantage point. Iā€™m glad the weather has picked up for youā€¦Have you been for a swim yet, the sea looks very inviting off that beach.

No way would I swim in Australia - I donā€™t want to end up a Great Whites lunch.
Had a little paddle.

Hi Muddy. I hope you are enjoying the improved weather there. I spent some time in Durban, South Africa. I did swim there but there were there were shark nets. Didnā€™t they have those at the Gold Coast in Oz land?
