Muddys Trip to Australia

I have just been told off by my son for putting too much bird seed out .
It has attracted a growing crowd of parrots cockatoo and minors .
There was mention of bird poop and rats ! :frowning:

The danger with Sulphur Crests is that when you stop putting food out they will rip your house to pieces.

How lovely to have these beautiful birds visit you daily!

I think so but my son endorsed what Bruce has said Cocatoos will destroy the house if encouraged .

When my friend was driving me about during my 2005 visit, she said I might see wild roos. I was quite disappointed not to spot any.

Fantastic photos! Are you there in a more rainy time of year than your last visit? Everything seems to look more verdant. Just beautiful!

Now where did I put that passport…

Explain to your son that as the department head of Travel and Tourism for OFF, you have been particularly tasked with the job of sighting, photographing, and reporting on the presence of wildlife - and as such, he should switch his fully leaded coffee for decaf. :kissing_heart:

It’s raining cats and dogs at the moment .
Apparently it been the wettest season ever that’s why everything looks so lush it’s not cold though .

Yep, all the way up the east coast - miserable, damp, humid summer , that’s La Nina for you

There are bright spots in between the rain .
Went out in the garden for a stroll this morning and a LEECH hitched a ride on my leg .
Blooming cheek !

Today we had the full force of La Niña which is part of El Niño which means rain in buckets .
And I mean buckets so no walking for me today but yesterday went into the rainforest and saw loads of bush turkeys a bird that seems to be hated by all Australians with a garden as they scratch them up but these were in the National Park so doing no harm .
They look like a regular turkey but smaller I like their rather vulture like colourful heads.
We have had so much rain that as you can see the drawing paper has curled up

Almost. It’s actually the exact opposite of El Nino, caused by the Southern Oscillation Index in overdrive.

Absolutely belting down here at the moment

BTW it’s a Brush Turkey not Bush Turkey but easy to mishear.

Awesome drawing Muddy. Sorry to hear about the rain.
